Re: Men's D1 Lacrosse is Facing a Certain Death -- Women's is on the Ropes
The perfect time to try and grow the game is in the fall. Schools should work on the play days to help grow the fan support. Do some kids clinics/meet and greet/ goveaways around the games. Maybe throw some youth games in between games. I know coaches are focused on working on things with their tea...

Re: National Championship — Northwestern vs. Boston College
It seemed after the 6-0 start that the Northwestern Coaches had the deer in the headlights look like two years ago vs UNC. BC made the adjustments and Northwestern stuck with what got them there- we have better players and they will Make plays. Laliberty struggling that game didn’t help their cause...

Re: National Championship — Northwestern vs. Boston College
KM won the final game for BC. It was working for her that day, not so much against Cuse. The BC team is stacked with talent, but their bench is also full of talented players that could play in any BC game. Getting to the national championship game 7 times in a row is a credit to AWW. She has mastere...

Re: How will NCAA Settlement Change WLax?
A false start gives the ball to the other team every time. If the ball doesn't go above the shoulders, it's alternating possessions. I'm sure there are some other rules for the draw.

Re: How will NCAA Settlement Change WLax?
Not if WLax leadership doesn't create more fan interest. Other sports are way less of a drain than WLax (Women's BB actually makes money at a ton of schools). Things that are ruining WLax fan interest: -The draw -- I took someone who was a huge sports person to his first ever WLax game between two ...

Re: Semifinal One -- Florida v. NU
I like Florida because their offense is different from others in lacrosse. Maggi Hall attacking from the low side left is just not utilized enough in women's lacrosse, of course you need a good lefty attack. Both low sides are soft spots that can really collapse a defense and create passing lanes fo...

Re: Semifinal One -- Florida v. NU
Both teams race down the field in transition. I think NU can get sloppy in transition and it will happen against Florida. Florida will be +8 or more on the draw and can play make it take it better than any team in the country. Florida will put the pressure on Northwestern. I'm thinking(hoping) Flori...

Re: UNC 2025
As much as I hate the idea of super conferences in college sports, it's coming. Follow the money and football generates the money. The SEC and Big10 schools make so much money, it's not crazy that other big schools want a piece of the action. The ACC Grant of Right is solid for now, but the writing ...

Re: Teams that will suffer important loss of seniors for next season
The top programs will be looking hard at the transfer portal. Just so many high level players leaving the sport. It's basically the 2020 and 2019 high school graduates leaving in 1 year. A large % of the high level 2019's used that extra year as well as a few top 2018's. It all added up to a big num...

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
Maybe the game grew faster than it could develop decent coaches. Xavier, Old Dominion, and others seem to have coaches in place that may know the game, but are woefully unprepared to lead groups of student athletes. You can be a good college coach just by recruiting and treating your players well s...

Re: NCAA Tournament Games Scheduling Disgrace
College finals are done by this week. This is arguably the best set of 4 games in women's lacrosse every year. It should be "must see TV" for high school girls! I can live with Thursday, but don't like it. Make all the games start later, some overlap is acceptable. Noon for MD vs FL?? Both...

I posted Gladwin, my bad.
Malcolm Gladwell has written amazing books, I highly recommend them! Great reads, I doubt he reads this forum and will not be offended.

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
It's an amazing accomplishment to be accepted into any of the Ivies. They have the lowest acceptance rates along with MIT, Duke, Stanford, etc. It's a given that any of those school will provide amazing job opportunities for their students that keep their grades up. Kudos to any young women going to...

I'll give it a shot. My clueless prognostication as of 4/3(not where I think it will finish): 1 Northwestern - Big Ten AQ 2 Syracuse - ACC AQ 3 Maryland 4 Penn - Ivy AQ 5 Notre Dame 6 Michigan 7 Loyola - Patriot AQ 8 Johns Hopkins - Deserves this over BC right now with wins over SB and JMU which ar...

Re: Games Today
Penn State's is now 6-5 with 3 tough Big10 games and Vandy left. Best finish will be 7-8. Doesn't deserve a bid and doesn't qualify for one with sub .500 record. Expanded Big10 conference tourney gives them an extra game, but it will be a loss or a win and loss in best case. Doesn't push them above ...

Re: OuttaNowhereWregget--Redux
We both agree as do most everyone in lacrosse. It is unique in that 1 lady can basically create the occasional +10 or more possession advantage in any game almost by herself(3 women on the circle). It's not a coincidence that Florida #6 is leading the nation with 149 draw controls this year. As a te...

Re: OuttaNowhereWregget--Redux
Here are the stats from the other big game last night. There are 3 stats that show how well a team is keeping possession of the ball that I lump together. Draw Controls - Penn +4 Turnovers - Penn +3 Ground Balls -MD +2 Penn a +5 for the game yesterday. The most important stats are shots on goal and ...

Re: WLAX Bracketology
Fairfield has only played 1 Patriot League team this year. It was Holy Cross and they lost. That one hurts.
I was one to pump the brakes on Army and Navy before the season, but both teams have put together very impressive seasons so far. Loyola, Army and Navy are deserving of making the final 28.
