Re: New England West 2024
Honestly its called geography. Outside of St John's Prep those other schools are close. Your coffee is still hot after your drive from Brunswick. Deerfield, Salisbury, Taft, etc, are not bordering strong lacrosse towns or in hotbed areas. I commend Wick for adding Boys Latin in years past as well. B...

Re: New England West 2024
9-1 and 11-2 at points in the game …something off for Taft today and Deerfield team starting to gel Can anyone confirm 15-3 Deerfield? Assumed the big green would come out on top but that sounds like an absolute thrashing. One would expect some of the big-name offensive commits to step up for the Rh...

Re: ISL
This season for the ISL is a great reminder why games are not played on paper. Great to see the teams that are not "anointed" get upsets.

Re: MASS HS Lax
MIAA rules does forbid contests like this. the prep had to wear pinnies that were not their normal numbers. It was a “game” and they played MIAA rules so some brutally long possessions. The prep came back from 5-1, 8-4 and 9-6.. IMG splits goalies, and while the 2nd one was very good, the first one ...

Re: New England West 2024
Hogan Lax is running spring training most of March down in Orlando. Govs, Westminster, Deerfield down there last week. This week Taft, Brunswick, Holderness, Middlesex and others Less than 2 weeks to action! Loomis gets going on March 16th in PA Deerfield starts on March 16th against IMG then has No...

Re: ISL
Didn't the CM lacrosse coach head over to Middlesex (his alma mater)? Why leave CM? Football team is loaded But the lacrosse team is not. It was reassuring as a lacrosse fan to see his Twitter post had pictures of him playing both sports. The ability to reclass, and what that unlocks for recruiting,...

Re: Top 25 for 2024
NAPS, Bridgton, are PG teams (actual purpose of the school). Brewster maybe had 2-3 PG's on their team last year (one went to Villanova)...It is not a PG school..Exeter had 6-7, similar to a heavier PG roster on a NE West team. If we are going to allow PG schools in the national rankings then why st...

Re: ISL
Their hockey team made the Elite 8 for the 2nd time in 3 years. But agreed, it’s different. Before the start of spring season the juniors spend 11days in the white mountains (4 living solo).. Apologies as this an ISL thread. Maybe I shouldn’t talk about Pingree playing ISL teams 😊 Not if you want to...

Re: Top 25 for 2024
I believe L'Ville lost out on some PG's because they were told that they had to be lacrosse only (no other sports allowed). TBH, from a business angle, it is better to take a repeat player who can give you 2-3 years in your system. It is understandable. US Lax does that, but I think it is hard to kn...

Re: Top 25 for 2024
Just taking a quick look at St Anthony's on IL I cant find any birthdays for that redic talented class from last year. But I believe you. Not counting St A's and Chaminade most other catholic high schools repeat a handful of kids in their middle school. This is very different from later on when tale...

Re: Top 25 for 2024
Brunswick, Culver, Lawrenceville, Boys Latin (Yes) all have a lot of repeats (with the first 3 relying heavily on them) which US Lacrosse doesn't seem to have an issue with for rankings....and there are others that I am not sure about. I have to imagine any private day school in a hotbed has a bunch...

Re: ISL
I believe Mass youth numbers are as strong as they have ever been. The strength of the ISL is a reflection on that. Even if these kids choose to attend private it does not mean that the youth numbers (or talent levels) are down. 90% of the elite ISL players are day students, which is a reflection of...

Re: ISL
to be fully fair when discussing MIAA lets take out the Catholics..Then the numbers will probably be more drastic Yup, at this point even I'll get on board with that sentiment. Public schools do more with less and it's commendable. Just looking at commitments for MA, while last year the MIAA team be...

Re: New England West 2024
Don’t kids play fall sports in high school anymore? NEW1 played Lawrenceville recently at Loyola in MD Taft’s fall ball squad squared off against Lawrenceville’s fall ball squad in Maryland – and lost. Badly. 14 – 8. See Link from Lawrenceville’s videographer: ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8Ik3...

Re: New England West 2024
Makes you wonder about the public school kids who start on top D1 teams and didn’t PG or re-class. Those kids are becoming more and more of a unicorn but man is it impressive when you see them. I honestly don't know why more college recruiters don't place a bigger emphasis on age. Anecdotally to me...
