He is a good HC who has always surrounded himself with talented asst. coaches, or does he finish up at UNC and ride off into the sunset?

That is a good question.

The latest big news is that Dave Cottle has stepped down after one season at Navy. We recently talked about Andrew Stimmel. Before being Marquette's head man, he was an assistant under Amplo there. And, after that, he had quite a run as Yale's OC.

Possibly Andrew Stimmel, who was most recently the head coach at Marquette? He coached under Amplo at that school, and he also had a nice run as Yale's OC.

Lots of new faces next year. But one thing to remember is that many of them will be Amplo's recruits.

I will ask this now. And this will be my first statement I make in the Navy 2025 thread.

Has Amplo, in-terms of figures of speech, "hit his ceiling" in-terms of how high he can take Navy Lacrosse? If he hasn't, he needs to prove that very soon.

Well, let's see where they go from here with Amplo. They did win a conference tournament game for the first time since 2010 and get to the semis.

As for Stimmel, there is also the possibility that, after having experience as a head coach, he has realized that an assistant at a major DI program is the job that is best for him and what he likes the best. Legendary assistant coach Marc Van Arsdale decided the same thing after a stint as the head...

I was thinking the same thing. And at a fellow program in the Midwest.

I made a poll awhile ago asking the same question. And a large majority of people said no. I wouldn't be surprised if that has changed.
