Re: 2024 New York State Tournaments
Victor is today’s West Genesee At Cortland I was watching Victor dismantle Vestal. I left at halftime to check on Liverpool, but came back to finish the game. Even in a rout, they’re an entertaining team to watch. A well disciplined machine. What ever issues they had during the regular season, they...

Re: Transfer Portal 2025
What are some opinions on best portal classes? As a Terp fan, I feel like we found 2 starters at Midfield. I think Hopkins did well with the 2 SSDM’s/G/FO. I know ND only picked up the Harvard LSM but he’s a really nice player. UVA found a difference maker at Midfield. Interested to see where Balsa...

Re: 2024 New York State Tournaments
South side down 7 to 2 in late 3rd came back won 10 to 8. Melk 19 of 21 huskers gave that game away. I don't think they gave the game away, SS wore Yorktown down. The Yorktown D looked exhausted in the 4th quarter. It could have been worse if the Mezzatesta didn’t have 18 saves. both late 3q penalt...

It's like cutting off one end of the blanket and moving it to the other end thinking it will be longer.....they did nothing. Re: House v NCAA
There is no wage scale in athletics departments? Not one that applies to ALL athletic departments in every University, no. That would be illegal. Which is why we are here. You can't collude between companies to cap wages. For good reason. https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/2015/6/29/_1314762044078...

Re: The stick
one of the things on "sticks" that i rarely see talked about is the technology that's advanced for mesh. not only can you have a game ready stick pretty quickly, and it can survive weather, wet, etc. better, but those still pictures you see and shout "that stick's illegal by a mile!!!...

Re: TV Broadcasts/Announcers/Production
Anyone who has had to chase a ball down an asphalt street or the beach at low tide knows this. That dreaded 2nd bounce. Missed physics during my time at Cortland but playing goalie on that old field house floor also informs my understanding. Now back to our regular scheduled Broadcast/Announcers/ P...

Re: TV Broadcasts/Announcers/Production
So, in lacrosse, a bounce shot would always be slower after the bounce than before. was my original point, yes. the contrary was the opener to me turning on the game. Of course a shot can move faster (forward) after bouncing. Its total energy can only decrease with hitting the ground but if it chan...

Re: House v NCAA
I don’t think that will happen, either. 1500-3000 fans at a Big 10 lacrosse game (when they’re playing a good team or their main rival) doesn’t get the sport to profitability. Sports like lacrosse go away or return to pure amateurism. And I’d be thrilled if the entire traveling club industry went a...

to the maybe most impactful discussion, faceoffs, which was the genesis of this thread and discussed at some length at the end of last year by coaches: - 60 seconds off the face. i think this is a done deal. having rabil write rules isn't exactly a blueprint, but the pros anyway got us the shot clo...

james madison gets the bulk of their athletic money from student fees, the largest in the country (and in history).

to get another $500k they'd just have to charge students another $25.

Re: Aggressive on D … why so conservative on O?
One thing that has been frustrating regarding the discussion here is why folks are so accepting of an aggressive, high risk/high reward D and are so resistant to an aggressive, high risk/high reward O? The Hopkins D in my opinion developed during the season into one of the best in college lacrosse....

Re: Possible face-off changes
ok, it's that bi-annual time of year! we get new rules for lacrosse, most of which i'd say have benefited the sport. of course, changing faceoff rules has become a tradition, so it's a lock we'll see something there. let's "dive" in, shall we: https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/six-top...

As of yet, there is nothing I have seen to indicate scholarship athletes are employees. Dartmouth basketball players deemed ‘employees’ under the National Labo...
