I wouldn't call PSU tuition low. Lol.
I didn't know out of state was that high, I went there in-state. Now, the In state $ is about 20k/year which is really good for a well known school with a big alumni network.

Re: Recruiting

Here’s a question that I am not sure anyone has had experience with. My daughter has been getting hits on her still active sports recruit page the last week. Two top 30 teams multiple times. She’s been committed since September. Is this normal? She hits Live Love Lax next weekend for the start of t...

Re: The numbers from the Final

There just isn't a demand for much lacrosse in Cary, North Carolina, especially considering it's a 10-13 hour drive from most eastern areas where lacrosse is most prevalent. Cool thing about holding it in the mid Atlantic or in New England is that fans from NY, NJ, PA, MA, MD, etc... all can make t...

Re: Men's D1 Lacrosse is Facing a Certain Death -- Women's is on the Ropes

We're at a crossroads for women's lacrosse. Men's is certainly about to get the ax at a lot of schools. Revenue generating sports on the men's side will suck up most of the "pay" and resources coming from schools, and sports that suck the revenue (profits) away from the athletic departmen...

Re: How will NCAA Settlement Change WLax?

Not if WLax leadership doesn't create more fan interest. Other sports are way less of a drain than WLax (Women's BB actually makes money at a ton of schools). Things that are ruining WLax fan interest: -The draw -- I took someone who was a huge sports person to his first ever WLax game between two ...

Re: How are the mighty fallen

Once mighty Maryland vs ranked teams since their last national championship in 2019. (2020 through 2024) 4-10 vs Top 5 9-14 vs Top 10 28-24 vs Ranked teams overall. If you want a real eye opener (I don't feel like crunching the numbers) go back and look at their record vs. ranked teams from 2015 th...

Re: NCAA TOURNEY ROUND 1

The moment none of you have been waiting for! Spidey's NCAA ROUND 1 Lines! Anyone else feel like this season absolutely flew by??? Round 1 will be interesting. Putting out lines for some of these games will be tough, but I plan on doing lines for every game of the tournament. Let's see how we do......

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024

Add William and Mary to the list of openings. Great school, nice area, within range of any of a number of hotbeds...you'd think someone could take this job and turn things around? Is that a nice area? It's near Norfolk I think, which has horrible congestion. That general area seems to be crowded an...

Re: York College

Watched the York vs Widener game, Widener was up early 2-0 I thought they might make a game of it but then York took over and it wasn't much of a game 16-4 at the end. Nice weather though....York not having the best year but still way ahead of most D3 schools.

Re: Games Today

I’m somewhat stunned by the amount of focus on coastal Carolina. It’s the 36th best regional university in the south according to usnews. I hadn’t heard of many of the schools ranked above it and I wager most posters on this board haven’t either. Conway is not in the top 36 prettiest college towns ...

Cleats vs Turf shoes? My kid (12U) just started playing on almost all turf this year after playing mostly grass before. I bought her new cleats this year but now I'm thinking she might need turf shoes. The fields are all HS outdoor turf (typically football fields). What is everyone's thought on thi...

Re: New Programs

The reason we have 140 D1 Women's team is to meet Title IX requirements to keep up with men's participation in the bigger sports. The 75 on the guys side? Don't care. How many D1 Women's Soccer teams are there? 347. We haven't even hit peak lacrosse numbers to match soccer yet. There are many teams...

Re: New Programs

I've read articles that colleges recruit lax players because the parents still tend to be upper-middle class (and up). Given the horrible financial state of academic institutions it makes sense that if your going to start a new sport you would target the affluent (or semi-affluent). It's anecdotal b...

Re: Games Today

Kinda interested in UMASS vs Holy cross. UMASS has played a tough schedule so far and are 0-2 but 2 very good losses to good teams. Hard to gauge how good they are after years of A10 domination I’m going with UMASS by 5 I was surprised with UMASS score yesterday. While BC & Ivies are doing well...

Re: Cross country travel advantages/disadvantages

I don't understand why schools will have such high travel budgets for non-revenue sports. Can't they just form/join a different conference then the football/basketball that they're in for the other sports? Keep them closer to home so they spend less? Of course it's not in the fans interest but seems...
