Re: Miscellaneous Topics 2023
It’s definitely an issue. But so is the crazy reclassing we see in men’s lax and other sports which has 18 year olds playing with 24 and 25 year olds. I hope if, god forbid, any interruptions like Covid happen again, the NCAA reflects on how this impacted the girls downstream and makes a different ...

Re: Florida State
What is a school like FSU's incentive to provide a well funded non-revenue sport? This is a serious question, maybe there's more to it than I understand but a large school like FSU with tons of football $. I don't know why they would spend much time or money on it. If I were the AD I would want to k...

Re: ILWomen Top 50 Players 2024
I agree Scane should be #1. Here’s a potential topic for some discussion. Who is the best player at each position? Here are my takes: Attack - Izzy Scane Midfield - Belle Smith Defense - Sam Thacker Goalie - Lauren Spence Scane's an obvious one, but what criteria do you have in mind for assessing a...

Re: Recruiting
A lot of people mention the pull of big time football on lax recruiting. IMO it doesn't get any bigger or better than Penn State in that regard. What do people think about the PSU program improving in the future (ranked 32 last year)? State College is awesome, you get the best football atmosphere an...

How worried should I be about concussions?
My daughter is 12U & doing great in Lax but she does even better in academics (so far). I"m pretty worried about concussions, I've seen some data that shows a high concussion rate for girls lax. Higher than boys lax & higher than most other youth sports. From people who have older daugh...

Re: Transfer portal
The first coach that immediately comes to mind after reading this post is JMU's Shelley Klaes. KAH is the coach who immediately came to mind for me, particularly for how quickly Northwestern rose to dominance. Most of the east coast schools have had lacrosse programs for many, many years, AND they ...

Re: Recruiting
Just had a conversation with a few parents regarding this crazy recruiting year. Most of us have been through this twice. All of us have stories that sound the same. No one can figure out how and what these coaches are looking at. When your daughter doesn’t get contacted by teams ranked in the 50s ...

Re: NEW RULE PROPOSALS
Will any of the rule changes address the situations like what happened to the Yale player? I know as a parent that story made me really worry about my daughter playing. As she's gotten older the games have gotten way more physical and I do worry about her safety. I've seen some crazy (and somethings...

Re: Florida State
We all kind of suspected this was comming but good to have official confirmation. IMO FSU has all the resources, more so than even Clemson to be major player right away. The days of Florida being a contender are all but over with this addition. Gonna be a long line of long island kids headed there ...

Re: Recruiting
My daughter just finished up. I don’t wish this on anyone. Wow that was hard for her. The offer was great. And yes. Tons of ghosts out there. Although I have to say I’m scared to see what the hell happens in two years to make sure the offer is the same. I couldn’t believe there’s nothing written do...

Re: Recruiting
You can't believe everything you read on the web, but maybe parents and prospective student-athletes consider things like this: https://crimegrade.org/safest-places-in-college-park-md/ I don't think that's it. I'm struggling to find college towns with wlax that have even a C rating. I've been to a ...

Re: Recruiting
To be honest, sounds like you have done your research and have alot of information on all schools. But you're really splitting hairs here. Academically, Yale is the best. Lax wise, Dartmouth has the brightest future. In 3-4 years they will have the most talented team in their history. The Hapgood s...

Re: Recruiting
The portal is changing all of college sports and not for the better for HS players. For example Coach Prime at Colorado has Sanders, whose success is drawing massive attention, has pushed an instant rebuilding strategy. He calls it his 40-40-20 formula. His goal, he said, is to recruit a team with ...

Spallina to Clemson is pretty much dead with them having landed Penzcek. UNC chose Winkler over her so they are out. Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023
My daughter was at a lax camp recently and heard some of the coaches talking about how William and Mary lost both assistant coaches. Can anyone confirm? If so would be second year in a row that both assistant coaches left. I wouldn't read much into this. this is pretty common at lower D1 programs w...

Re: Recruiting
It's kind of crazy that there aren't full scholarships available. I know it's non-revenue but I've known many people who've received full rides for academics. I mean academics is non-revenue as well and it's fairly common.
