Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

Nice pick up, Hounds! https://scarletknights.com/sports/mens-lacrosse/roster/remington-reynolds/12051 Very nice pick up. Now have two very capable LSMs in Roman and Reynolds. I remember watching him play in HS and was very impressed. Lean and fast. Could use a few Lbs but I’m sure Charlie’s crew wi...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024

Rutgers LSM Remington Reynolds to Loyola. Great pick up. Yep, great pick up. Played at the Gilman School and was moved to close defense for his senior year from LSM, earned 1st team All MIAA and MD All State. As LSM, was a Big Ten freshman of the week and Rutgers rookie of the year for a team that ...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024

Anyone know any of these kids who got screwed by these rental seniors? People have been mentioning this for 3 years now, who are all these kids who never got to play and who’s future got destroyed because a team brought in someone else? Anyone got names? Which, by the way, they could have done with...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024

...so not done. With no insult intended to anyone involved, I'm looking forward to this extra-Corona-year thing being over. I understand that top players have transferred from BU to UNC, SU to UMD, Bucknell to wherever for many years. But the transformation of Notre Dame, G'town, etc. due to transf...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024

My point in another thread about the transfers. How would you like to be a 2020 recruit at Cuse and have worked your ass off for three years. Next year you are a senior and they bring in two middies from Princeton to take your spot. 2020 and 2021 classes got screwed by the 5th year COVID situation.

Re: (Presumed) Impact of Grad Student/Senior Heavy Rosters

I think it is as much if not more a factor of having 23/24 year old men, whether transfers or homegrown, dominating rosters. Look at MD last year (such a large % of scoring from extra year guys - struggled to replace when they left) and the final four teams this year. Just a huge advantage to have ...

Re: (Presumed) Impact of Grad Student/Senior Heavy Rosters

In the downtime this morning before the games began I looked at the rosters of the 16 tournament teams, looking at # of grad students; total # of most seasoned veterans (seniors/redshirt seniors/grad students); total # of transfers on roster; and # of impact transfers (transfers who are starters/pl...

Re: (Presumed) Impact of Grad Student/Senior Heavy Rosters

Really looking forward to 2025 when the extra COVID years are over and we are left with four year players. This whole transfer/fifth year has been very unfair to the Ivy’s and Patriot league teams since they don’t non-injury redshirt nor do they allow fifth year transfers. Yes Army made a run but r...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024

Last year of the transfer portal they way it is now. Next year is the last year of the COVID extra years. Will allow Patriot League and Ivy to have better opportunity to compete. I get your point, but did you see PL representative ARMY, yesterday, and IVY YALE, played great against GT. Two ivies go...

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

This is mainly a speculative point that I’d like some discussion on. Obviously 2023 is the 2nd year in a row that the team missed the ncaa tournament. This might be the first time coach Toomey has missed the tournament 2 years in a row. That being said, is this a reflection point for the staff to r...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024

His bio on Lehigh.edu says in 2019 he did not see any action. Was he injured? If he was on the active roster in 2019, does that mean he gets a redshirt year? 2019 through 2023, that's 5 seasons. Or does the NCAA give him an extra (6th) year? Not right imo if he does get a 6th year.... Patriot Leagu...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Mcgorry, Hugh brown and Jacob Sullivan all coming back from injury should help bolster the midfield a bit. Lineup changes and discussions always welcome! Heuston lindsay and higgins are the 1st line after this season. Once higgins recovers from his nagging injuries I really hope and think he will c...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Really proud of the way the Hounds finished the season. They showed a lot of character the way they faced 3 opponents who had beaten them previously in the span of 6 days, and came away with 2 wins and a respectable showing against one of the best defenses in the country. Too many players to thank,...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Not the season we hoped for but the boys worked hard and fought till the end. Most of the team returning next year. Need Sawyer to take the next step at FOGO. Need Binney, Heuston and whomever to continue to develop. Was amazed at how Minicus, Kamish and Lindsay did nothing today. Higgins finally sc...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

One of the best comebacks I've ever seen. Congrats to everyone. Clearly a team effort with stellar performances from James and Poitras and many others, but I just have to call out Staudt and his 20 saves. He has put this team on his back in the playoffs. I love it! Go Hounds! Let's hope we get Reza...
