Re: Miscellaneous Topics 2023

Cleats vs Turf shoes? My kid (12U) just started playing on almost all turf this year after playing mostly grass before. I bought her new cleats this year but now I'm thinking she might need turf shoes. The fields are all HS outdoor turf (typically football fields). What is everyone's thought on thi...

Re: Boston College

Notre Dame @ BC I’m not doing the lead-up to a big game justice, but time keeps on slippin’… Instead, I will plant a few seeds for debate. Previously, the formula for beating the Irish has been the following: Keep the draws close, limit #23 JW touches, stay patient on offense and wear them down, cap...

Agreed; the winner is going to have something like 7 or 8 goals here.
Good call!

Re: Games Today

Inside Lacrosse..believe it or not, their box scores are pretty accurate. It's what i use. I think they get a direct feed from official broadcasts. I don't know what method these individual schools use but alot of the websites are all designed by the same company so if there's a system bug in the a...

Re: Games Today

Seems like a good day to shout out one of our homegrown greats, senior captain for Ohio State, Jamie Lasda. My daughters and so many others have played with and looked up to Jamie because she both plays the game and leads the right way—by quietly setting a good example and selflessly including/lifti...

Re: Boston College

Hi all - new poster here. I've really enjoyed reading everyone's opinions and thought I would join in. I am not sure it's entirely fair to say that AWW and the rest of the BC coaching staff don't look to the future and player development. It seems like every year about two freshmen get to start or ...

Re: Polls

Its just my opinion but ND is not better than BC. BC has won the last 6 contests that I can recall and only one was close. BC also sent ND home in the NCAA playoffs by running clock the past 3 years. Both teams have largely comparable teams that they have had historically and BC has better coaching...

Re: Games Today

Great player, but Masera flops more than Lebron. What a turd way to lose. A lot of floppers on SB ...good thing they are supposed to enforce flopping :| Cuse needs a lot of work......They may and should drop out of top 10. To lose a game when opponent goalie makes like 3 saves is pretty bad. As alw...

Re: Declining Programs

The majority of the women's lacrosse coaches across D1 are former All-Americans that were great players. Great players do not automatically translate into great coaches. It is rare that the top players from most other sports become really good coaches. There are some great coaches that are all time...

Re: Boston College

Northwestern recap So, it took the Eagles roughly one quarter to get up to speed (7-2 NU after 1st). Even though BC outscored them 9-7 the rest of the way, it never felt quite that good in-person. Northwestern’s size and physicality all over the field creates tough matchups for the Eagles. These pro...

Re: Boston College

We'll see how long it takes BC to get up to speed. Eagles played them tough last Feb at their place. Had them on the ropes but ended up losing by one. That's more the type of game I’m expecting (minus the losing part). Dolce has been looking sharp. Tough to do when not seeing a lot of shots. I’m sur...

Re: Boston College

Northwestern @ Boston College They will lift the dust cover off the facility at Boston College’s Newton Campus Thursday to do it right for ESPNU (hopefully they can get the lights to flicker on at least one more time). The Wildcats are very much the same team as last year; a known championship quant...

Haven’t seen anyone mention Penn v Hopkins game yet. Score was closer than the game was. Penn dominated 3rd q, had a 4 goal lead they gave up end of game. Nice game by both teams. Happy to see the ivies climbing back. I watched some of this one and agree--quality back and forth affair was highly en...

Re: OuttaNowhereWregget--Redux

People are free to say what they want, but not being a dick when commenting on teams is also a good philosophy. However, I know some people are inherently negative and it shines through on sports forums. I don’t get offended, but I also try to not be a dick. Words to live by. I hear you, too, lacro...

Re: Games Today

Watched BC play Michigan in basically a straight up, officiated game to end the fall season. Think BC won by at least 6. Dont want to say the game was not competitive but based on what I saw if they played 10 times BC wins 9. I wonder if Michigan is doing something different defensively because opp...

Re: Games Today

:) 15-12 Syracuse with 11:00 to go. Pretty surprised. ND hadn't shown anything to think they were some juggernaut. NU win was nice but they've beaten top teams before. Syracuse has more than enough talent to compete. This season is wide open. Expect the unexpected Not finding the downplaying of ND ...

Re: Games Today

Don't know why Md. got the ball at the beginning of OT2 as opposed to having a draw. The green card was before the end of OT1. I understand that the card carries over, but why no draw? Maybe this isn't analogous, but if a team gets a card at the end of a period (or under the old rules, a half), the...
