Re: Biggest Surprise & Disappointing Teams In 2024?

Definitely agree with Towson as a surprise, Syracuse recruited well
under Petro’s short tenure as an assistant so I would consider them a mild surprise.

Duke and Carolina are my disappointments

Re: WLAX Bracketology

Once you introduce the polls or the eye test, you throw objectivity out the window. This is a lot of outrage over the last team included. And I think that much of it is because of Duke and the animus they face on this board. And Maryland may not be the 4th best team in the country right now, they a...

Re: WLAX Bracketology

Duke getting in is a farce. They looked like a talented JV team last time out against BC. They need to get Loyola to OT in order to save face at all. If they get running clocked, the committee has explaining to do. This comes down to the committee bringing in personal relationships from outside. It...

Re: WLAX Bracketology

Hmm. In the history of the NCAA tournament. Duke this year at 31 RPI and PSU last year at 32 are the lowest to ever make the tournament. I’ve been saying for a month. Don’t discredit that factor. The Ole Girl network saved Missy last year and tried to save Kimel this year. It was written. Well said...

Re: Delaware 2024

Unless Delaware wants to be in separate conferences for men’s and women’s lacrosse, I am sorry I just don’t see Delaware in the ACC. With Florida State adding women’s lacrosse and Stanford and Cal joining the ACC in women’s lacrosse next year, i just see no way Delaware is destined to the ACC in wom...

Re: Recruiting

Great now here we go. A lax forum has to become political. 🙄 The comments above from BOTC aren’t political. We discuss all sorts of things to consider when committing: geography (weather), financial, safety, etc. - why shouldn’t folks also consider the social culture of a school / town they’re goin...

Re: Recruiting

This should start picking up now. Winkler to UNC yep the dam has broken. Magday from McDonogh to UNC as well. Another Maryland Kid Magday is an M&D kid as well. Coach Levy having her daughter play M&D was a brilliant move on her part. For years we were not getting M&D girls. Now it is t...

Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023

My daughter was at a lax camp recently and heard some of the coaches talking about how William and Mary lost both assistant coaches. Can anyone confirm? If so would be second year in a row that both assistant coaches left. I wouldn't read much into this. this is pretty common at lower D1 programs w...

Re: Oberlin College

I'll go one better--how about if folks don't post D3 news on D1 boards; regardless of how many people do or don't visit that neck of the woods as a qualifier. After reading and watching, this is more than D3 news - this is women in sport news. Is there a current issue in women’s lax with transgende...

Re: Boston College

Clemson and Florida State are going to leave the ACC. The B10 covets UVA and UNC. In the next three to five years I think you can see Clemson and Florida State in the SEC and UVA and UNC moving to the B10. The ACC is in big trouble. It is all about TV revenue, and the ACC is significantly behind the...

Bryant is moving to CAA for only football. They will be in the American East for all other sports.

Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023

According to a showcase email my daughter received (mass email), Aurora Cordingly is a UNC CH coach. sneaky good hire. I'm assuming she's being brought on as an asistant coach? Geirsbach and Aldave are on as Grad assistants and that 3rd Assistant coach position is open Agreed tremendous hire. Aldav...

With all their impact seniors taking their fifth year plus Ball, Maryland has a very talented roster. They should be a Final 4 team next year.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

I know at Carolina lacrosse we have our own issues. I am writing out of curiosity because yesterday both the Hopkins mens' and womens' head basketball coaches resigned to become D1 assistants. The mens' coach to Cincinnati, the womens' coach to Loyola. Is there something going on in the athletic dep...

Re: Northwestern v. Boston College, High Noon 5/28/2023

Wow Big Ten members move ahead of ACC members 24-6 in ncaa titles. Very impressive group. Are you conveniently using all of the Maryland Championships they won when they were in the ACC? Yes I am. They are a member of the B1G and they own their championships. If NW moved to the acc they would be a ...
