Tough one, stopped paying attention after it was 16-5

Re: Liberty League 2024

Big Win for RPI. "Trap game" this weekend against Coast Guard, a team RPI lost to in OT last year. Looking forward to next week's tilt at defending SUNYAC Geneseo! As for Skidmore. A win is a win. The good news is a number of goals were assisted and Stamps got his first win between the pip...

Re: SUNY 2024

I have seen his teams play and Know that he recruited very well when he was at Cortland. The 2006 championship team was full of his recruits and might be one of the most talented teams ever in D3. Barnes did a great job for that one year. The years prior to that when Rogers was the coach they certa...

Re: SUNY 2024

Kind of vague but I expect there has been some personal interaction there. That aside what will he bring to the table that wasn’t already there with Beville? I can’t believe the Cortland administration would have hired him unless they thought he brought something different to the table. Vague? What...

richard wrote: Tue Jan 30, 2024 10:13 am Leonard, is it the coaching aspect that you question or is it the competition for talent that leads you to believe Cortland can’t step up?
They can step it up, I just do not believe they will step it up unless the current coach has evolved and realizes this isn't 2004.

Re: SUNY 2024

Hard for me to call a guy a retread when he was terrific in D3, went to Syracuse, and came back. It’s not like he’s a lifetime middling coach who keeps getting hired because he’s always available. We will agree to disagree as some one who was "terrific" as a head coach in DIII was almost ...

Re: SUNY 2024

Truly hope Rogers can bring them back to NCAA relevance. I don't think that roster is that far off. They are closer to falling back to the pack as opposed to reclaiming the #1 spot (in SUNYACS) for this year. Cortland is lucky that Geneseo is going to the Empire 8. As for NCAA relevance, IMO, isn't...

Re: D3 lax media coverage

Yes, the IL D3 rankings have been Dan Kaplan's take for some time now. It is not a poll. Granted he is one individual, but there are a number of "misses" IMO. It would have been a little better if he just cut and pasted based on certain results from the tournament last year. But hey it's ...

Re: NCAC 2024

JCU, for all intents and purposes replaces Allegheny. So the NCAC has been a 10 team league the past few years and the format remained a 4 team tournament. But the tournament competition will be stiffer for sure. Thanks for the update. I was unsure if Allegheny was on a probation period for 4 years...

Re: NCAC 2024

Agreed, I think they instantly become the third-best team in the NCAC behind Denison and Kenyon but will struggle to win conference championships as they did in the OAC. This does make Baldwin Wallace's road to the NCAA tournament so much easier. Could this help the NCAC become a consistent 2-bid c...
