Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023
Katrina Dowd new head coach at Brown University. There’s no way she quit. “quit” is secret code for the job was opened up. One of the greatest offensive minds in the game. Even though she left in 2020, anything that Carolina did from 2019 to last year‘s national championship can be easily contribut...

Katrina Dowd new head coach at Brown University. One of the greatest offensive minds in the game. Even though she left in 2020, anything that Carolina did from 2019 to last year‘s national championship can be easily contributed to the Katrina Dowd effect. She molded that offense and all of the 2017...

Re: NEW RULE PROPOSALS
Terrible idea, akin to mandating helmets. It’s not men’s lacrosse. 100% overthinking all of this by going to 6 v 6 …please don’t fall to the peer pressure of those in power who think they know better and completely change this awesome game.

Re: Transfer portal
Yes, coaches are the only ones with access so anyone proving info has a coach letting them in on the news. With that said: 1. Four Maryland girls are in it, yikes... 2. Chepnik is getting hosed with $ at Clemson and is ticked. Her being removed from current website is because of her departing, she ...

Re: 2023 NCAA Championship Bracket
JMO, but women’s lacrosse, is one of the fastest, growing sport in the country, so give it its full due and seed a full bracket to 32 teams, with the entire bracket fully seeded so we know what seed, USC, Notre Dame, and Maryland actually are. Take out the regional factor. No other NCAA tournament t...

Re: Future of WLax Rules
Nearly half way through the regular season and it seems like the majority of the discourse online (instagram, twitter, etc) seems to be on the increasing physicality of the game. Starting with the unfortunate injury to the Yale player (good to see that she is out of the hospital) and following with...

Re: Upcoming Best Games 2023
Looking forward to the Army vs Rutgers game - Army is playing well and I believe is now the 2nd best team in the Patriot League, replacing Navy who held that position for quite a while. I think Army wins this by 2/3 Which means I'm also interested in the Navy vs. Villanova game should be pretty com...

Re: Maryland 2022
Looks like Maryland had its first practice today. Anyone else think the offense is being slept on a little bit? There's been a lot about the returners on defense (and rightfully so), but they still return a greater percentage of points than any of the other Final 4 teams from last year. They had a ...

Lots of glaring omissions, but it’s embarrassing that Sarah Reznick is not on this list? She might be the best goalie in the country, and if not top 3.

Re: Geez-Enough of these boring posts. WE ACTUALLY HAVE GAMES BEING PLAYED. Anyone with color from Fall ball?
A few weeks ago, but I Saw the Navy/Florida scrimmage. Both teams #1’s looked decent, but once they start subbing it gets a little hectic. The Navy kids play hard…we should be glad they’ll be defending our country. The Florida goalie is really, really good, and the attacker who transferred from Caro...

Re: Too Early 2023 Rankings - USA Lax
2022 final 8, according to article they return a lot of young talented players, a great goalie, and got arguably the top attacker transfer. IMO, a 7 Ranking seems like a legit pre-season ranking considering those factors?

Re: Tracking Who's Coming Back for Covid Fifth Year (and who is not)
Returning for UVA: Ashlyn McGovern, Nina Garfinkel, and Courtlynne Caskin. I think that's good for Virginia & I think they have the potential to make some waves next season. Caskin was injured most of this past season, so hopefully she returns fully healthy. I think their midfield and attacking...

Re: Coaches Corner
Non-competitive games, in my opinion, are when there is a running clock in the middle of the third-quarter. I do not have a problem with coaches playing their best players and playing to win for the majority of the game. But there comes a time when you need to get your starters out, and your younger...

Re: Transfer Portal
Maybe I am not remembering this correctly, but didn't the NCAA expand the scholarships beyond 12 for 2021 due to COVID? If so, did that expansion carry over to 2022 and beyond? I thought that only applied to student-athletes who would have exhausted eligibility in 2019-20 and chose to return for 20...

Stanford's red shirt attacker Ashley Humphrey is having a great 1st season on the field for the Cardinal. She leads her team in points with 78 (next closest has 52). She leads the nation in assists with 55 (next closest has 34). Some highlights from her stat line through 13 games: 23 Goals 55 Assis...
