Re: Penn 2024
Great win in front of a really strong crowd (for Penn) on Saturday. I think Cornell is a really skilled, well-coached team and the boys showed up with passion and desire that we haven't seen since Duke. Defense is playing really well as a 6 man unit. The freshman shortie's are improving fast, which ...

Re: Penn 2024
Big win in the rain. Overcoming a horrible day at FO, the team rallied. Walsh out makes a difference as his replacement really struggled. Murphy is playing a ton of guys at middle and the rope unit, which is a nice change. D was solid. Freshman D-middies are getting better. Big 3 game stretch ahead....

Re: ivy league 2024
As mentioned above, big day for the Ivies. Huge win by Yale. I agree the conference needs one more big win in the out of conference to get 2 max 3 teams in. C'mon Cornell!

Re: Penn 2024
Congrats to Murph and the boys! What a win for the program and the staff. It's great to see a true team win. Lots of talent on that roster that was maybe hard to see with the talented group that just graduated. Penn does is there way, no doubt, as it relates to recruiting and running the team. Let's...

PENN 2024
Kick off the new year thread with the commitment of 2025 Top 5 recruit and 5-star Jackson Mahar. Big attack man who can really score out of Bullis School in Potomac, MD. Murph has quite a pipline to that school in the DC area building. With the 23 class strong on paper (we will see) and now a buildi...

Re: ivy league 2024
Leo Hoffman #2 UPenn looks like he had a pretty bad shoulder injury, hopefully doesn’t carry into the season. That sucks. Hope the kid is ok. Lots of time to recover, even with the Fall being super important for incoming Freshman. I look forward to seeing him play. Could be just the spark/talent Pe...

Re: Penn 2024
Stiffler, Any idea if any of the seniors on defense are sticking around for another year? There were no seniors last year who played on defense beyond BJ, and he is obviously done after a stellar career. If they can solve for Bond being done (big if), then they should be strong in front of Carroll.

Penn 2024
With a talented class coming in, a couple of transfers from UVA, and a roster that has lost some star power, 2024 will be a year that new stars have to emerge for the Quakers. It appears they will be lead by an experienced defense/goalie, as Murphy and Co. work to re-imagine the offense without Hand...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024
Mac Eldridge to Penn Still puzzled over his transfer with lasella graduating Agree, but the Quakers will take it. Arceri/Eldridge combo is a good one. They have a DC area fogo coming in as a freshman to go along with eh sophomore from Taft who got some experience last year. Second UVA transfer to P...

Re: NCAA reorg imminent
Interesting discussion. I think we all can agree that conference expansion isn't done and a combination of football & market are the drivers. SEC and Big10 seem to be in the best position to take on more schools. How it alters college lacrosse is tbd, but it will alter it, no doubt. My guess is ...

Re: Should The Final Four Be Held A Week Later So Can Be Held At Navy?
I've heard lacrosse people say that we need to find our "Omaha" location as college baseball did. I tend to agree with this. I think Annapolis would be great the week after Memorial Day, but I'd take any city that would wrap themselves around the event from a support perspective and has a ...

Re: Ivy League 2023
I really don't think the ivy comes out of this looking bad. Michigan just ripped through the big ten tournament but needed OT to beat cornell. Yale was very competive with a highly regarded Gtown team. Princeton barely loses to a good penn st. team. Sometimes things just don't break your way. We wi...

Re: NCAA Selection Discussion - Containment Thread
Do you think that SOR encapsulated SOS enough that it should be removed as its own line item? Probably yes. But in the case of a super tight SOR contest where we are talking about a virtual tie with no H2H, I could see the edge going to the team with the better SOS. If we are going to have the comm...

Re: Georgetown vs Yale Game
Does anyone know if Sharp is healthy? That could be the key factor. He is very good and a difference maker on offense for Yale. W/o him, the G'town D will be tough to handle. G'Town goalie has to show up and at least not give up some easy one's. Have not heard any update but assuming he will not pl...

Re: Penn 2023
Leo Hoffman coming in next year. Top 5-10 incoming freshman probably isn’t much of an exaggeration. He looked pretty capable in the two games I viewed, midfielder which is what they need. This just passed 5th year class got a quarterfinal and might have gone further except they had to play Yale. La...

Re: Penn 2023
Very disappointed for the team. But, when you lose games you shouldn't (Brown and Villanova), this is the result. The program is now at a crossroads. A couple of final observations before we turn our attention to 2023/24:\ -No NCAA Tournament or Ivy League Champ means the 5th year experiment was a f...

Go look at Penn and Cornell's resumes. They're basically identical. Cornell RPI: 8 SOS: 22 T5: 0-1 T10: 2-1 T20: 3-2 21+: 8-1 Penn RPI: 10 SOS: 8 T5: 0-2 T10: 2-3 T20: 3-4 21+: 4-1 Cornell's best wins: #9 Yale, #10 Penn, #17 Princeton Penn's best wins: #7 Georgetown, #9 Yale, #17 Princeton Cornell'...

Re: Penn 2023
I was down at the Frank for Dartmouth yesterday: - First game where all units showed up with energy, passion and performance -Offense - Kudos to Murph/Abbot for playing more of the young guys. It is clear we have had a ton of skill sitting on the bench. It's great to see so many contributors and mak...
