Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
Any feedback on today's scrimmages would be greatly appreciated. Per postings on The Sabre, UVa beat Towson 19-8 after leading 13-1 at the half. Per a Tweeter at the game, Kraus had 4 goals, LaSalla was 8-9 at the X, with UVa winning 20-29 FOs overall. He described the UVa offense as "a blunt ...

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
Former UVa Head Lacrosse Coach and Athletic Director Gene Corrigan passed away this week. He played for Duke and was also the AD at Washington & Lee and ND and Commissioner of the ACC. He's the father of UVa Alum and Head Coach at ND Kevin Corrigan. Here is the link to the story on VirginiaSport...

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
And the Hounds don't run as fast on grass, particularly if it's a wet field. I predict UVA. Gonna be a good game no matter what. We're going to water down the field just like we do for VPI in football and basketball. If you don't believe we didn't do it to beat them this yuear, just cruise TechSide...

Re: TV & Streaming 2020
The ACC will be having Thursday night games this spring, undoubtedly on the ACC Network. This year, probably due to renovations in the Dome, only UVa, Duke, ND, and UNC will be participating. UVa @ ND (3/19) UNC @ Duke (3/26) UVa @ UNC (4/2) Duke @ UVa (4/9) You can also expect that the ACC Tourname...

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
The schedule has now been officially released on VirginiaSports.com . Of note, 3 ACC games are on Thursday nights, probably to be broadcast on the ACC Network. Virginia seems to have a lot of home games early with the first 5 games: Loyola, Lehigh, Princton, High Point and Air Force all in C-ville....

Re: Universal Start Date, New Tournament Format
.....Solution is starting season two weeks later, universally. Better chance of avoiding freezing weather and games that no one wants to attend - fans or players. Make up for it by scheduling mid-week games. Every team plays a couple of Tuesday evening games throughout the season. Great for fans to...

Re: Shot Clock Success
I agree that it was a success. It definitely accomplished the goal I always wanted, taking away the judgement call as to whether a team was stalling. The only change I would make is to go to 60 seconds on the reset, like basketball now goes to 20 seconds instead of a full 30-second shot clock after...

I believe VMI's indoor practice facility, oops I mean, VMI's Corps Physical Training Facility is a full field.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
InM not sure why anyone would assume the coach has been left “blowing in the wind”. I suppose it is possible that his future is up on the air but the more likely reason is the new AD is still settling in, one of her first objectives was to interview all the coaches which should have been completed ...

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
On another message board, someone suggested that part of the change of culture at UVA involved not drinking during the season. That would constitute more than just a change of team culture. Has anyone else heard anything along those lines? I would find such a prohibition difficult, if not impossibl...

What we know about the schedule so far:

Apr 18 - Syracuse (mentioned in Tweet with no author noted)
VMI and Marist have published their schedules and we're not on them.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
I think we need to worry about China. If they get hold of those videos it could jump start their lacrosse programs and they could win the World Games in 2022. Then the stock market would crash and a whole chain of negative events would ensue. OMG. There could have been opposing coaches in the stand...

Re: Fair Pay to Play Act
The State of California, by enacting this law, is telling the NCAA that they can't punish any players or schools for allowing the players to receive money for endorsements or use of their likeness, etc. They way it could be argued by the NCAA - By being members, the schools have entered into a contr...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
drcthru mentioned it. There are now 1300+ undergraduate students in each entering class instead of 1800 in the whole school. AMRs I and II don't have enough rooms to hold the whole freshman class, let alone the whole school.
