Re: Brown 2024
"Anger is an energy. Anger is an energy."- John Lydon. Angry team squeaks out a win to keep slim ILT hopes alive. Couldn't attend, watched w/o sound on phone. Looked like Brown was double-shifting the first midfield, but they had enough energy to get through 60 mins. #38 had a good first h...

Re: Brown 2024
One disappointing thing about the lack of assists is that the Daly staff has been good at recruiting all-around attack. He's usually had two starters comfortable & competent at working from behind the goal. Started with Molloy (not his guy of course) & McCaleb, then McCaleb & Kniffin (on...

Re: ivy league 2024
Lacrosse Alumni Day games for both Brown men & women today. Women's Brown/Princeton game is first, start time noon, so the men's 3:30 start is probable but the proceedings and any overtime might affect that. Any rumors that the Athletic Dept admin is searching records to see if some male alumni ...

One example of an intra-IVY head coaching poach. I don't recall the circumstances but Gaudet is a Dartmouth alum. https://dartmouthsports.com/sports/mens-ice-hockey/roster/coaches/bob-gaudet/1587 Another example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glen_Miller_(basketball) Didn't go well for the Quakers....

Re: ivy league 2024
I had heard the budgeted Brown indoor facility is not full-field. I don't know anything about Princeton's & Harvard's facilities (Allston Hvd sports campus is impressive overall), but given their resources, if Brown's are better, shame on H & P. We know what Princeton can do when they put ef...

Busy Wednesday slate. Not the national scene usual suspects but a couple of interesting contests: Quinnipiac/Sacred Heart 3pm, LIU/Manhattan 4pm.
Potential first-round teams for someone.

Re: Brown 2024
Well the school should not have a problem retaining all the high-ranked incoming class: they'll see playing time. So, relying on incoming freshmen means target competitive year is maybe 2026, hopefully 2027. Hope my doc gets me there.π€π» Also too, if the current recruited roster is overrated (to re-r...

Aw #ell grab Benson from across town.π₯΄ Let's get back to some reasonable speculation; 3 of last 4 at home. Win predictions? Bueller? Bueller? Princeton, not likely. Obvious talent disparity at offensive & defensive ends. Middle of the field? Princeton is young overall. Common opponents to date:...

Re: Brown 2024
What about Kirwan? Would he jump from Dartmouth that quick? "Needs of the business" can overcome a lot, but if he left after one year how would that be perceived in the college lacrosse ecosystem? Would that be a big red flag for his future employment opportunities? There's opportunism, t...

Re: Brown 2024
Lets at least have some fun and start talking about who should replace Daly. Has to be from D1, just based on Brown's hiring history. HC? AC? Offensive or defensive bent? X & O rep or more noted as a recruiter? Past (or present) Ivy experience? Alumnus? How many are in coaching currently? Thomp...

Re: Brown 2024
I just think 10 years is the proper length to either show some eventual success or to say "it's not working and you've had plenty of chance to perform." And let's realize Brown's real lacrosse success was the Stevenson/Starsia era, more than a generation age (gen. ~ 20 years). There were 3...

Re: Brown 2024
The coaching position is endowed. That doesn't mean the HC has tenure! Whatever criteria the admin (including of course more than just the athletic dept) judges sports teams on, that's the bottom line. Wins/losses aren't going to be "below the fold" on the list. Given poor on-field results...

Re: Brown 2024
It's almost as if the x attack is being told to dodge to gle then pass it off no matter what. If that's all he's trusted to do and no one on the roster can do more that's coaching & recruiting. Not to mention putting the young man in a position where a schmuck like me critiques his play. As I no...

Brown at CU Saturday, after Big Red's wild win yesterday and the upcoming CU game Sunday 4/14 vs ND: TRAP GAME! Actually, I thought the Syracuse game was the "trap" game, as to me, the most important games are the IVY games and trying to not only get into the ILT but also host. Winning th...
