Re: SCOTUS
All of the speculation about who leaked the draft and why is interesting, but none of that changes the unassailable fact that Alito got five votes at the conference to overturn Roe . Roberts did not agree to overturn Roe . Had he, he would have kept such an important decision to himself because he ...

Re: Bracketology - Always a sign The Tournament is near
https://www.usalaxmagazine.com/college/women/bracketology-selection-committee-sheds-clues-on-how-bracket-will-shake-out I actually can't believe there is any talk at all about Michigan making this tournament. Dear God, please don't let the committee seed Duke. Thanks from agnostic -- but still hope...
Re: SCOTUS
The best bet on who leaked this is either Alito himself or one of his followers at the court - lock in the opinion without changes or the court looks silly. I sort of agree; but I don't think it's really fair or appropriate to ascribe it to some specific clerk. Unless, of course, PB has good eviden...

Hence why deliberations b...

Re: SCOTUS
Don't think it is a clerk. More likely to be a supreme. (1) Alito to freeze the 5 votes, play the you can't give in to pressure card; (2) Roberts to push one or more of the 5 to reason, see what you are doing, this is bad for the court and country - likely Kav; (3) one of the liberals, likely Breye...

Here's a video compendium of Suzie-Q's statements on Kavanaugh and Roe:

Red, good questions. Will Collins -- therefore -- support a statutory codification of Roe? Cue the pearl-clutching.

Re: Progressive Ideology
Even if it's a joke, that's what happens when one party is the only one to govern. Governance is effectively about trying a policy out, seeing how that policy is implemented and determining if it is a success. When it isn't, reasonable governing people go back to the drawing board. The choice betwee...

More on the Publicly-Employed Praying-Performance Coach Case: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/02/podcasts/coach-pray-supreme-court.html A complicated legal case has been reduced to a provocative headline: “Can a public high school coach pray publicly?” The takes were just as hot in reply. “Jesus sai...

Re: ACC Tournament - Seeds, schedule and thoughts
"Hall may or may not find her '21 championship weekend mojo again, but the way this team is starting to play, they might not need her to. I’m not saying it’s a recipe for success, but it just might be enough this year to win—not only to repeat as national champs, but to snag the ACC title, as w...

Re: January 6, 2021: Insurrection or “normal tourist” visitation?
“Pro-normal.” Seriously. Yes, pro-normal: among many other examples, not wanting to discuss age-inappropriate topics with young children. That would be normal, to vehemently reject any adult discussing age-inappropriate topics with young kids. I can list dozens of examples of being ‘normal’. I’ll g...

Re: 2022 Spontaneous/Miscellaneous Game Threads
I only meant that BC’s defense is superior to Syracuse’s. I was not passing on the goalie situation of either team. I think I did say Hall would make more than four saves, and someone replied “wanna bet.” I didn’t, so my beer money is still in my pocket. Hall had a brutal day, in my opinion. I don’t...
