Re: Georgetown 2024

Hoyas had a great season. 6th straight conference title, tying the D1 record. Only team to beat the consensus #1 during regular season. Seeded playoff team. Beat a 2x consecutive FF team in first round. The issue continues to be how does this program get back to Memorial Day Weekend? Is this a team ...

My response was more in regard to the backup fogos comment. Agree he doesn’t need a translator as this entire thread is in the same language.

Re: QF #1 Notre Dame vs #8 Georgetown Saturday @ noon

Rolldodge, You remind me of Hoyaboy, regardless of agreement or disagreement you are always a gentleman. I don’t think that SkipPass was contradicting himself. My interpretation of his post is that personnel refers to the quality of players that GU recruits and who get on the field. I believe his p...

Re: Georgetown 2024

I didn’t notice it in real time, but watching the on line video of the game, Schubert had a look away feed to the crease for a goal that was ridiculous. Whether he was hurt or just needed time to come into his own I have no idea. But he definitely brings a dynamic to the offense the Hoyas did not ha...

Re: Georgetown 2024

had asked on game thread but only seeing live stats it appeared neither goldberg or cesare played. They've grown a lot this year and while not stars seem improtant to their success. did neither play last week? They both played limited minutes. Shubert is the one glaring difference the Hoyas have no...

Re: Georgetown 2024

FWIW - including the Georgetown ND game on 2/25 two teams left in the tournament have one loss. ND in that game and Georgetown at Denver. Every other team has at least 3 losses since that date. We can argue SOS and RPI but whether it’s pretty or not, the Hoyas find a way to win. Obviously ND is the ...

Re: QF #1 Notre Dame vs #8 Georgetown Saturday @ noon

I think ND wins this comfortably. Ball is hurt, that could slant the field. ND has the revenge factor going for it. Ball is not hurt. He had a bad cramp in the 2nd half. He missed the 4Q for cramp? He will play Saturday, you can bet on it. If he is less than 100% that is an issue vs Lynch. Lynch is...

Congrats. That could be the most absurd comment of the year on this forum, which is saying a lot.

It certainly isn’t always as you would script it but this team has some serious stones and continues to find a way.

Re: All Americans 2024

Apologize if this was already discussed, but the assignment of attack or midfield AAs has to stop. The days of the classic X attackman are largely gone. The days of the specialist crease attackman are 100% gone. The majority of the game is played above GLE, best attackmen continuously run out of th...

Re: Georgetown 2024

Hoyas OT wins in both the semis and finals of BET are either really worrisome or indicative of a team that seems to play to the competition, which was better than RPI would suggest IMHO, but comes out on top. Good teams hang around, great teams find a way. Whether this is a good or great team yet tb...

“All of this other eye test stuff is bias (recency). Do I think the Terps are playing well? No. Anyone can see that. It is largely meaningless to Hoyas chances, but interesting that Georgetown was the only seeded AQ.

Re: Georgetown 2024

A lot depends on proximity of schools. NCAA has to be cognizant of that reality without having egregiously unfair matchups. That makes a Georgetown Maryland or Georgetown Princeton matchup likely it seems.

Re: Georgetown 2024

I was thinking that as well. We could possibly get the 7 or 11 but my gut is we are 8 or 9 and will just have to deal with playing ND if we can get that far. Let’s see what happens at 930!

Caroll great goalie but if you play that flat on arc you can’t hope for body saves. You have to attack.

Re: 2024 Bracketology

Tell me again why UVA is such an automatic? Yea, I get the RPI, but don’t you at least have to win some of those games, and not just play them? Wins against umd (do we know what they are , btw, from a quality perspective?), Harvard (didn’t make the Ivy tourney) and Mich (who before the Big10 tourne...
