Re: Georgetown 2025
Gtown had an awesome year in 2024 and exceeded my expectations especially after a rough first couple of games. Congratulations to the senior class. It was sad to see so many gtown greats like Bundy, Haley, Hess, Halpert and the rest of that amazing class move on. They did a tremendous job maintainin...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Obviously very different situation but hearing the Daly news made me think how lucky the Hoyas are that the program stuck with Coach Warne through the dark years. Big Tilt Thursday with a rising Providence Squad. Can't take any game lightly if we want to avoid the bubble!

Re: Georgetown 2024
Agreed RD. The deliberate slowdown in the 4th quarter of the last two games has been giving me 2018 Johns Hopkins and 2022 Delaware 1st round NCAA PTSD. I understand the general strategy but you can still play smart and still try and keep pushing the pedal to the medal

Re: Georgetown 2024
To your point though HGK, typically to get to MDW a team needs an alpha tewaaraton level attackmen/threat from behind the cage. While this team has some great players, what I thought was strategically interesting esp. during the ND game was that Hogan seemed to recognized this team's deficit from be...

Re: Georgetown 2023
The defense will take a slight step back with the biggest lost being obviously McElroy, but will still be superb and one of if not the best defenses in the nation. In my mind defensive midfielder depth is the only big question mark. The hoyas biggest weakness last year was the offense/offensive dept...

Re: Preseason Top 10
Obviously I am bias, But if I were to guess what IL's preseason top 10 would be it would be the following:
1. Maryland
2. Cornell
3. UVA
4. Notre Dame
5. Georgetown
6. Princeton
7. Rutgers
8. Penn
9. Duke
10. Ohio St.

Re: Georgetown 2023
From an outside looking in, here is probably my best guess at a starting lineup as of right now. I had Minicus at midfield because he can fill more of a distribution role for the midfield (like Trippi) and I had kelly at attack for more of a lefty finishing presence. Wouldn't be surprised if we saw ...

Re: Georgetown 2022
sad to here Kabiri decided to go another way but it is what it is, just part of the new recruiting landscape and probably a bunch of other factors going on in that decision that none of us are privy too. In terms of the transfer portal having an impact on future recruiting, its obviously a factor th...

Re: Georgetown 2022
Hopkins in 2018 Gtown was a major underdog especially after the Bucaro Injury. Game went down to the wire in OT and the ball just didn't bounce the Hoyas way. In 2019 vs Yale Gtown ran into debateably the greatest FOGO of all time in TD Ierlan. I believe he set the NCAA tournament record for most fa...

Re: Georgetown 2022
I believe Reilly will be attending Penn St for a 5th year (jame's homebase is in Pennsylvania) . From what I have been told ~everyone who is playing a 5th year (besides McDermott, hes coming back ) would love to come back to play at Georgetown, but ultimately the financial equation didn't add up to ...

Re: Georgetown 2022
hats off to the 5th years and the rest of that incredibly impact senior class. 15 wins especially given the tougher regular season schedule is nothing to scoff at and although this post-season was a disappointment I'd argue Georgetown has taken another step along the path of becoming a perennial pow...

Re: New Coaches/Programs Doing Well
would Georgetown be in this conversation? Coach Warne's win percentage his first 5 years vs the last 5 are pretty startling 2013-2017: 26-47 (35.6% win percentage) 2018-2022 (so far): 55-14 (~80% win percentage) as for the catalyst, from being around the program for a couple of years the catalyst wa...

Re: Georgetown 2022
@Hoya testament to the culture Coach Warne & co. and the last few senior classes have built over the last couple of years that we are able to pull in transfers and integrate them so well within the team

Re: Georgetown 2022
I think one final point I would make about this 2022 team that gets me excited is that they really haven't played a full 60 min game/their best lacrosse yet. While they have had spurts (the first half of Notre Dame game is a prime example) they haven't played a full 60 minutes yet which makes me exc...

Re: Georgetown 2022
biggypacking off of HGK's point, by far the best TJ Haley's looked all year and he looked significantly more mobile. Loved seeing him demand the ball as he got going throughout the game and making smart decisions as he always does. Haley's progression as well as continuing to build midfield depth wi...

Re: Georgetown 2022
as a recent alumni of the team i can tell you first hand that Monday's film session won't be a fun one. Although the hoyas only lost by two I could tell that the team/coaching staff took it like they lost that game by a million. Rumor has it the coaching staff was comparing this game to the Drexel g...

Re: Georgetown 2022
jumping in here I think these first 2 games really show the gtown recipe for 2022. Not to state the obvious but defense is absolutely phenomenal, the best in the country, and could be one of the greatest hoya defenses of all time. To think that Gibby smith, a first team all american as a sophomore a...
