Re: Connecticut 2024
So far everything is chalk except Simsbury (5) beating New Miford (4) and Brookfied (5) beating RHAM (4). People may not like chalk but this is soooooo much better than the seeds they used to assign a few years ago

Re: ISL
Does anyone know the criteria? There were some bad teams that got multiple nods and some decent teams only got 0 or 1. Seems strange or is this one of those weird political back door deals...

Re: New England West 2025
Part Deux of East v West: looking at any any Eastern Mass/NH/RI v Western Mass / CT / East NY results Regarding Tabor beating AOF (which is one my "home" teams along with Westy, Loomis, Taft and Choate), AOF was mixing and matching their goalies with different defensive personnel and would...

Re: New England West 2025
My thoughts: For years NEWest1 had a big 3. 'wick, DA, and 'bury. Recently, Taft rose above DA, but DA didn't fall out of favor. Maybe Taft replaced DA last year in the Big 3. Last season there were either the big 3 or the Big 4, but DA was doing what they do every year and getting better and bette...

Re: New England West 2024
A curious observation: As stated before the 40 D1 commits were for "rising seniors" but looking the numbers, they have quite a bit of ways to catch the 76 D1 that are graduating this year. Does this represent a downturn in the decrease of D1 quality players in the region for next year? Wi...

Re: New England West 2024
The Pelicans must be shaking their heads and channeling Rodney "I don't get no respect" Dangerfield. They win the FL for the first time in 16 years, beat Salisbury for the first time in 17 years, beat DA for the first time in nine years, only lost two games and beat all comers save for 'w...

Re: New England West 2024
Man. The last few posts have cited Monty Python, Ricky Ricardo and Rodney Dangerfield. People, I think we may be aging ourselves at this point. I cant argue the DA > Loomis logic. If you actually look at common opponents, DA had bigger margins in all but 2 games (I was kind of surprised by the sque...

Re: Connecticut 2024
You do have a valid argument. It will never happen but like other states, maybe a "parochial" division needs to be formed with -Prep -St Joes -East Catholic -ND West Haven -St Pauls -Northwest Catholic -ND Fairfield -Xavier -St Bernard -Holy Cross -Immaculate Add in Canterbury and St Lukes...

Re: New England West 2025
Not going to start a "Coaching Carousel" thread for NEW1 but Kent School apparently is looking for a Head Coach. Very curious the direction they are going in and what kind of support they will get.

Re: New England West 2024
JAP, thank you for that detailed summary. The only error is Taft isn't ranked #1, but I'm still formulating my argument for that case. IMO, Brunswick is a school bound and determined to win a National championship. They're located well to achieve that, and they apparently have committed the resourc...

New England West 2025
To paraphrase Monty Python, the 2024 season is 'Not quite dead yet" but I figure its never too early to start talking lacrosse for 2025  Maybe its too early to make projections for next year, however, I wanted to throw out there, the # of graduating seniors and rising seniors (with commits...

Re: Connecticut 2024
As a small defense of hometown Hand, that recent stretch of losing in state finals multiple times were almost all to New Canaan in generally competitive (though not close) games. The top 3-4 FCIAC teams these days are top 10 nationally public schools, NY is down across the board. With that as the s...

Re: Connecticut 2024
Agreed. Both King and Greens Farms Academy are producing decent D3 / D2 players but not necessarily high level D1 players. King has done a good job and won the FAA this year and GFA has been a perennial contender, GCDS literally just established their lacrosse in the last few years and has done so ...

Re: New England West 2024
FINAL NOT SO ACCURATE NEW1-2-3 rankings -Congrats to the Pels for a great game and a great season. If only we could play one more game and have a rematch of Loomis v Wick with everyone healthy -I think the teams that were expected to win, won (with maybe the exception of Harvey) but congrats to 'Wi...

Re: New England West 2024
As for rosters, a decent backdoor approach for a school like Wick where almost everyone is playing in college is looking at IL recruits list. For Wick, it lists 14 seniors, with commitments for 9 of them (Virginia x2, Brown x2, Syracuse, Georgetown, Colgate, BU, Holy Cross). TP has 15 seniors with ...

Re: New England West 2024
Loomis v Taft is the rematch we deserve. Same for Wick v LVille Chippiness all around the region. Swung by a meaningless AOF Westy consolation game which was also very chippy mostly due to Westy - very poor sports in their loss. Result: AOF backups 14 beat the Westy starters 13 What made you think ...

Re: New England West 2024
AOF definitely played their starters. Regardless, very shocked that the WINged beavers finish 2 games below .500 this year. Will they be able to rise back to the top of NEWEST1 anytime soon? Same goes for Salisbury. I think they finish outside the top 5 in NEWEST1 for first time in 10-15 years! Top...
