Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
Bob Scott played goalie when at Forest Park High School--he told us he was one of the better guys on the team and the coach decided he could best help by playing in the cage. At a Hopkins' practice one day Coach was not happy with the lack of intensity, so he did something to fire up the guys: he bo...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
Is it possible for those of you who snipe and complain about each other to find another forum in which to do so? I like to read about Hopkins lacrosse and not read what one poster thinks of another and what they have done wrong. Venting at anonymous people would not seem to be productive, or even he...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
Very impressive so many players are Academic All Americans. For what it's worth, Joey Epstein's major was philosophy.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
As I understand things, there could be a new coach as early as next week. No info as to who this might be.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
Coach Grant was not the right person for the job. His prior coaching experience was limited and he was not able to translate his enormous talent as a player to being a coach. I do not know if he jumped or was pushed, but it is best for all that he left. It will be critical for PM to get the next hir...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
"Does Hopkins still field a lacrosse team? Did they drop down to d3?"
Wow--what a clever way to start the thread! The wit and the insight are remarkable--ignorant and crass and stupid all in the same few words.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022
Joey has not played consistently. Again, when I saw in Denver my comment was he needed to play better. And he is capable of doing so, but he has too many lapses. Three goals in the last game and one shot in three quarters in this game ??? By all accounts he is a great kid. As for Junior's offense, w...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022
The discussion about the transfer portal is interesting. But one critical factor, of course, is the ability of the player to be admitted to Hopkins as an undergrad or graduate student. How difficult, in practice, is it for the players transferring to meet this standard. A collorary is how much suppo...

Thanks for the stunning insight that Maryland has a very good team. This is absolutely something we all needed to learn as soon as this game was done.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022
"CU77 wrote: It's turtles all the way down ... (and not just for JHU) +1000000" It is astounding how empty some lives must be. Hopkins get a nice win in the B1G Tournament and instantly some want to c*&p all over the team. But if this release of hostility helps make you calmer, then go...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022
"Once upon a time" the official start to the lacrosse season was March 1. I understand this is long gone, but with this start date it was not necessary to have to practice inside. I do not know if it is true there were private funds for a bubble, but the administration vetoed this. Again, ...

"Practice bubble? God I wished I had PM'd someone predicting this - could see it from miles away. Reminds me of the famous Buddy Garrity line in Fridat\y Night Lights: "Tammy Taylor - We don't need a jumbotron - We WANT a jumbotron." It's why we didn't get Rambo. Thank you for that su...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022
"maybe we will test if daniels, alum $, et.al. want to get hopkins back in the top 10." The narrative the lacrosse team is not supported by the administration is nonsense, most likely propounded by someone who still misses Coach Pietramala. I have heard and read this canard ad nauseum, but...

"Are you calling Murphy a liar?" DB, At times you talk as if you are a real lawyer. If so, then presumably you know that hearsay is when someone says what someone else says, and in this situation there is another layer. I have no idea what this young fellow said,, but supposedly he was run...
