Re: Home Stretch / National Rankings
The F&M side is definitely different than last year with the addition of Tufts. You’ve got the #3 and 4 teams vying for a final four spot. And Roanoke is no joke. If they wanted a little more balance there should be more ranked teams with Middlebury. Especially given they are the expected winner...

Re: Home Stretch / National Rankings
Definitely a 180 from last year where they gave AL bids to DePauw and mount union and someone else (I could be wrong about a few of the teams), which were ridiculous (whether the choice or the criteria to be followed) Totally agree. Last year was silly. And I’m all for this year’s selections. Haver...

Re: Home Stretch / National Rankings
Better than last year but still imbalanced. I’d like to see the way over-ranked PP in another section and move one of the ranked teams from the Wes bracket to Midd’s bracket.
The at large bids were interesting. Surprised that they took Trinity and Haverford.

Re: Home Stretch / National Rankings
I think the hosts should be Midd, Wes, Ithaca, and F&M. Beyond that I think they are the most deserving, it's also geographically diverse enough where you can avoid having contending teams play each other a third time before MDW. While not the most important factor, I don't think it makes sense...

Williamsburg is glorious, as is the W&M campus. I agree 100% that this program, given the academic profile of the school, proximity to lax hotbeds, and the ability to give athletic $$ sets them up for success. Hope it happens. The last time they went to the NCAA Tournament...2001 The last time ...

Re: WLax Broadcasts and Publications: Comments/Reviews
Gotta love how the announcers for the Hop /Michigan game didn’t know it was sudden death overtime and felt the double OT game winner was anti-climatic. We have to be better than this during tournament time. It’s so amateurish. they are STUDENT announcers. but they should have been prepared. If true...

Re: Home Stretch / National Rankings
Super close game between the top Centennial teams. Could have gone either way. The rematch should be a good one.
Lax Numbers is really interesting re the teams in the outlier areas. Pomona stands out as a team that is in a very different spot on that site (37) v IWLCA polls (11).

Re: Home Stretch / National Rankings
Last year, the ncaa made one bracket that was a walk to the final 4 for F&M - they were sent to the “west” bracket while basically the rest of the top teams played in 3 brackets with the nescac schools in 2 of them and I think the bracket that played at W&L had 4 of the top 11 ranked teams?...

What do you see that goalies aren’t being taught? What do you see in this game that made you single out goalie play. I admit goalie is the position I am the least confident about judging.

Re: Time to get rid of running clock???
Something to think about: Running clock reduces playing time for backups. It is nice to be on a winning team, but it is also fun to play. Coaches are too slow to put in backups on games with running a clock. Some coaches wait to be up 15 before subbing on defense. Defensive backups on a good team r...

Re: New Programs
It is interesting that Earley has not been nearly as effective as people expected going to Denver this year. Is this because Middlebury was so much better than most teams they played with crazy depth? I guess I wonder who expected more than she’s given? In her move from D3 to D1 she’s done a pretty...

Re: New Programs
Then gap between D2 and D3 is even greater than the gap between D1 and D2. This seems like a broad brush. I bet the better D3 girls might have something to say about the gap to D2. Many chose their D3 schools for academic reasons in addition to strong lacrosse programs. Not true. the top 3 or 4 D3 ...

Re: Some parent rumblings from the stands this past weekend
I consistently see parents hand wringing on which school-specific camps to do over sophomore summer. For top recruits who are getting whispers through their club coaches this may be less an issue. But for those even slightly downstream it’d be very helpful to have some contact or communication after...

Re: Some parent rumblings from the stands this past weekend
Very interesting re: the recruiting timeline. Forgive my ignorance but how does it work with other sports? Do kids see offers on 6/15? Or do they wait until August? I wonder if that summer contact would be helpful in crafting camps and showcases for the summer. It’s trickier with the no contact rule.

Re: Conference Merry-Go-Rounds
Tough for UMass recruiting. Can’t see these midwestern MAC schools garnering much excitement from potential recruits. On the lax side or football? Looking through the rosters right now--CMU has 11 of the players from out east. See below. Central Michigan NY - 5 MD - 2 NJ - 2 MA - 1 PA - 1 Ohio - 6 ...
