Re: TV Broadcasts/Announcers/Production
I miss Eamon McAnaney doing college lacrosse broadcasts. He was terrific. Still remember his call of the DU v ND semi final in 2015…

Re: Collegiate Lacrosse Coverage is Lacking
FWIW I was talking with a buddy who was involved in pro lacrosse from the business side, his point was that advertisers *already* have (via other sports) the lacrosse “demographic” so the whole thing is a bit duplicative and not really worth significant $$$…

Re: Denver Pioneers 2024
I think every Denver fan is over the moon that this Denver team is returning to championship weekend. I knew DU could be an NCAA tourney team this year, but in no way did I think they would finish top four. Clearly, Denver's veteran defense has come together and played their best lax of the season ...

Re: Denver Pioneers 2024
Well Shucks... Tough loss at home, but I think we all knew this team wasn't going undefeated. Think for the first time the Pio's got totally outworked all over the field, and Yale really exploited some of Denver's weaknesses. Ground Balls were 28-17 to Yale. Simply unacceptable to be beat like that...

Re: Denver Pioneers 2024
Do you think the recruiting has suffered b/c of their record, or b/c there's more competition for top prospects from CA, Canada, etc.? If Mark Matthews, Wes Berg, Tyler Pace, etc. were HS juniors today, they'd be much more sought after by the top traditional programs than they were 10 yrs ago. Pers...

Re: Denver Pioneers 2024
I would expect almost zero significant changes for the Pios this year. Brown was running the show before and he will continue to do so. Tierney was clearly focused on the officiating and seemed oblivious on tape about who was subbing in and out. Brown had a few good games where they tried to get th...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024
Boy, sure hope so, but we’re seeing an increase in undergraduate transfers as well. No longer unusual and with the notion now that recruiting of top players from lower ranked schools by higher ranked is fair game, we may see more. And players frustrated by not getting a shot right away seem increas...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024
If you are a high school kid getting a call from Jacksonville, Rutgers or any one of the schools who takes 9-12 grad transfers, I’ve got to think you don’t seriously consider those schools. It’s obvious why the schools do it, but I’ve got to believe it makes it harder from them to recruit high scho...

Re: College hazing
Like college football coaches back in the day who wouldn't let players drink water during practices b/c it would "toughen them up" much of it just seems dumb and counterproductive. OTOH, so long as players' physical and mental health aren't being seriously threatened, I don't think it's th...

Re: Matt Brown Named Denver's next Head Coach
As Swami mentioned, legitimate reasons to give Brown the job. Denver's not like other top jobs in the country, you need someone comfortable living in a more isolated location compared to the rest of the lacrosse landscape with lots of travel and who has recruiting ties to the West Coast and Canada....

Re: Denver Pioneers 2023
After the great performance against Ohio State, DU regressed this week -- taken to the woodshed to endure a 13-6 pasting at Georgetown. Sometimes, a good ass-kicking can cleanse the soul. No element of Denver's game was sufficient enough to keep pace with the Hoyas. As I see it, the depth problems ...
