Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

06 the problem with your latest analysis -while certainly pointing out team related questionmarks - not hard BTW - is twofold. First, as the pandemic backlog really starts to dissipate - virtually every team has these issues. Second, again, you don't know what you don't know. Show me the posts from...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

Hopkins had grade deflation (relative to its peers) for years, which contributed to its reputation for being cutthroat. I can't count the times I heard stories of nearly everyone in a class failing an exam. If there's grade inflation now, it'd be a welcome development, IMO. In any case, this whole ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

Homewood Field's wikipedia page references the South grandstands - the Hopkins newsletter article on JHU lacrosse traditions mentions the "stands". jhusports.com does not mention Gebelein at all - not in the facilities description of Homewood Field or in any other capacity - I searched th...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

IL reports Koleton Marquis is headed to Albany. I'm excited to see what he can do there and I'm glad he didn't end up at a traditionally hop schedule program. The zinn/schellenberger/murphy thing was not pleasant for me the last few years. Zinn btw was another stellar student from what I remember. T...

It was a great post. They have 1 memorial day appearance in 15 years. No it really wasn't - the analysis was horrific as was I guess the supposed premise Tierney was praised consistently (I think by you) on the old forum when people looked for answers for why the program struggled after Rabil left ...

Re: Business of Brand Sponsorships

As the 2024 season starts to ramp up and Instagram content is released, I wanted to ask a question to any Director of Lacrosse Operations, Equipment Managers, Coaches, or parents of recruits: how does the business of lacrosse equipment sponsorships work? Concentrating on the preseason top 3, how mu...

Parents are becoming a problem. https://laxallstars.com/stick-tricks-the-questionable-side-of-lacrosse-culture/ Your shameless promotion of garbage content that has nothing to do with Hopkins lacrosse is becoming a problem. 3 current and future Blue Jays among 77 trying out for Nadelen’s U20 team. All long sticks: Kilrain, Eye and Kaestner. Like Q's chances. No offense. Because we now have our 4th offensive coordinator in 6 years? ??? Just saying a like Kilrain's chances to make that team. I love your posts. I was jus...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

I know it is true. Heard it from Hopkins and Cuse players. He covets tall defensemen. He has coached for 30+ years, so it wont be hard to find some exceptions. Nobody said it was indefensible, people just tend to want to take any statement on the internet and make it an argument. I think after the ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

The bigger issue is that he didn't seem to care much about size when it came to SSDMs. Again - I hate to raise the ugly issue but it comes down to early recruiting IMO. Take Danny Jones for example. Doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to find an article that he verballed to Hopkins somewhere around late 2...

Petro has always been a size queen. I thought late in his tenure Hopkins really lacked athleticism.
You would never know it by some of the shrimps he recruited at SSDM. Though I think part of it was he reliance on early recruiting and kids didn't grow.
I think he meant with defensemen.

https://umbcretrievers.com/sports/mens-lacrosse/roster/colby-weishaar/8451 In 3 games against towson (the only common jhu/umbc) he has 4gbs 4cts and 2 turnovers. He had 2 cts and 2gbs this year against the tigers. We'd more than take that. 5'11 180 also seems like decent size for an ssdm. I'm sure w...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

the 8 cts/12gbs sounds like an opportunistic aviles type who can hold his own defensively and generate turnovers more than someone who can play wing and vacuum gbs.

Former UMBC M/SSDM/LSM Colby Weishaar is transferring to @jhumenslacrosse, a source tells @Inside_Lacrosse. The versatile defender caused 8 TOs & scooped 12 GBs. Blue Jay DC Jamison Koesterer recruited him to Catonsville. https://x.com/terencefoy/status/1804923809696264238?s=61&t=NKsUTfjxZ1...
