Re: Games Today
Got a story about father, daughter, and the whistle which I can’t relate. Sorry for the tease, but it was quite funny.

Re: Games Today
I watched Chase Boyle develop from being a pretty good high school player as a sophomore to one of the very top players in the state as a senior. She’s duplicating that trend in college. Was a pretty good freshman. Showed promise. Now as a junior, she’s performing at the very top level of the game. ...

Re: Orange Duce
Maybe Trump will do an audiobook and read the Bible for his rabid followers. He will no doubt skip over the adultery commandment. When he gets to the part about coveting his neighbor’s wife, maybe he’ll ad lib and say “it doesn’t say anything about coveting your own daughter.”

Re: media matters
So NBC has taken a firm stand against free speech at their network. Damn it, I normally get my daily dose of propaganda from Lester. They could have given her a chance. The hired help at NBC had an industrial strength hissy fit at an outlier being hired to rain on their parade. That is so Fox News ...

Re: Orange Duce
I sure hope the Trump Bible has corrected the error in the original Bible in which it said Second Corinthians instead of Two Corinthians. I heard if you pay a little extra, Trump, himself, will cross out “Second” with a sharpie and write in “Two.”

Re: NU at UNC 3/25
To the suggestion that defenders might start taking cheap shots on attackers who go to goal — YIKES! — that to me is a really disappointing comment. 100% wrong. Attackers scoring at the end of a game are competing 100% within the rules. A defender has every right to aggressively defend within the r...

Re: NU at UNC 3/25
This subject, or various permutations of it, has come up regularly (annually?) in the 20+ years I’ve been on laxpower/fanlax. Virtually all of the points being raised now are raised every year. My own view has evolved. Currently I think the best practice is to put subs in at the end of a lopsided g...

Re: Key Bridge Collapse: What Happened?
At the news conference, they said the ship lost power. No back up? Fortunately, they radioed an SOS to authorities who were able to shut down the bridge so that (apparently) there was no vehicular traffic on the bridge at the time of the collapse. Unfortunately, though, there was a pothole crew that...

Wonder if Tish will appeal today’s Appellate Division’s bond ruling to the New York Court of Appeals. Wouldn’t you love to be the Trump lawyer who has to tell him the Court of Appeals has reversed and has reinstated the original trial court order.

Re: NU at UNC 3/25
I thought the refs might be shy about issuing green cards this year since the one minute player down penalty seems excessive for the foul committed. (Just my view). They sure haven’t been though. But on the other hand, the refs seem very reluctant to issue flopping cards. I don’t get it. There has b...

Found this on the always reliable, never wrong Internet: “According to the NCAA rules, in order to be granted a medical redshirt, the athlete must: Suffer an injury that is deemed “season-ending” Their injury must occur before the halfway point of the season Not participate in more than 30% of the s...

Re: NU at UNC 3/25
Don’t have any inside knowledge and am really just exercising my inherent poster-right to speculate, but if Ingrilli was healthy, wouldn’t she be playing? I thought there used to be a 50% rule, that is, if you played more than 50% of the year, you couldn’t red shirt even if you got injured. Is that ...

I think that’s a safe guess. When was the last time you saw a phone booth? Do they still have them in Rochester? Not in the areas of New Jersey where I prowl around.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 7:53 am The baseline should be how many stupid college kids can you cram into a phone booth. I'm guessing that isn't a fad anymore?

Re: 2024 HS season
EA is one of the best teams in SE Pa. In Jan. 2023 they won the national indoor at Spooky Nook. This past summer they lost in the playoffs of the Connecticut post season high school tourney to New Canaan. Haven't seen them in a regular season game since 2022. Back then they had an excellent goalie (...
