Re: CORNELL 2025

Looking at the 2024 roster , I count 23 Seniors, Fifth-years, and (even) Sixth-years. I know Kirst (a Senior) said he'll be back next year and Blake (Duke) & Wirtheim (UNC) are transferring elsewhere. But what about the remaining 20 >=Seniors? Who else among the other 20 >=Seniors will be back ...

Re: TV Broadcasts/Announcers/Production

I, for one, am just glad the PLL draft is over with. I may be in the minority, but I don't care about Carc's big board draft prospects. I'm interested in watching the college teams compete for a championship, not hearing about how this player or that player will fit into a pro scheme here or there....

Re: QF #3 Hopkins vs #6 Virginia Sunday @2:30

First, if anyone watched the first game today there were two reviewed calls that looked like the original call was wrong. But to overturn would need to be clear, irrefutable. And that simply wasn't sufficiently there in that film any more than earlier calls from prior game weren't overturned. Just ...

Re: QF #2 Duke vs #7 Maryland Saturday 2:30

I think it's about time for Matt "Nepotism Hire" Danowski and his man breasts to actually go fend for himself for the first time in his life. Daddy hired him right at the end of their 2011-2014 run and we have had to watch him completely waste the undisputed most talented offensive pool o...

Re: John Tillman: Best Coach in the Game, Right?

Funny how things change. Ten years ago, Tillman was Danowski and Danowski was Tillman. Danowski was making final fours and winning three titles from 2007 to 2015 and Tillman couldn't get over the hump. Now it's reversed. And it took Corrigan 35 years or so to win a title. Let's face it. It's hard to...

Re: Tewaaraton Award 2024

IMO, this discussion pretty much show how flawed the Tewaaraton is. I think the NHL should be a guide. Give an award to the best player in lacrosse for what happens during the regular season and don't penalize great players for being on teams that are not as good or deep as others. Then give a Conn ...

Re: John Tillman: Best Coach in the Game, Right?

I was at the game. I was saying the same thing about Tillman yesterday as Maryland clawed their way to the win. He's a tremendous coach. I will say though, that dominating face offs and getting solid goalie play when the opposing goalie is not making stops were the clear keys to this game. When thos...

Re: Coaches On The Hot Seat 2024

I think Danowski has earned the right to leave (retire) when he wants to leave. I don't see him being fired from Duke ever when he lifted that program from the ashes. Plus, since his last title in 2014, he had his team in the tournament 8 of 9 years. In the last 6 seasons, he has four final four app...

Re: QF #2 Duke vs #7 Maryland Saturday 2:30

O’Neill’s legacy on the line. DocBarrister He had 3-4 goals… Real problem is the flow of the offense. Just a dodge and watch offense for most the game. Aggressive dodge that draws a slide and then a throw back to a non-threatening player.. This game was face-off and coaching mismatch No championshi...

Re: QF #1 Notre Dame vs #8 Georgetown Saturday @ noon

If you go to NCAA Lax Stats, these 2 teams are in a dead heat in so many categories. ND is #1 in scoring offense close to 16 a game, GT avg is close to 13 a game. Scoring Def both are outstanding about 9g per game. One little soar thumb in first matchup was Dobson - 4 turnovers. The second midfield...

so with the acc's getting 4 in and put in different brackets this time, we have 4 acc vs. ..... given everyone's obsession with conferences and related sports radio-speak, between fanlax, lax media and lax twitter, how many heads explode if we get acc tourney redux? don't consider it very likely, b...

Re: Ivy League 2025

#1 question is defense. Princeton and Penn were solid, but overall the defenses were down in the IVY last year. For the Ivy to get back to getting 3 teams in the tournament, they will need to see some big improvement on that end of the field. That is probably the biggest story line for teams like Y...

Re: NCAA Playoff/ Championship Attendance

This weekend will feature four games with some of the most storied programs in the sport. Both venues are squarely located in longstanding "hotbed" locations. Both the Hofstra stadium in Hempstead and the Towson stadium hold approximately 11,000 people. I wonder if they might be sold out,...

Re: Ivy League 2025

Coda's point about defense is the correct one. The defense has seriously cost Yale from further tournament runs for 3 years now, and it hurt Cornell this year. Ivy league ranks in defensive efficiency Princeton: 4th Penn: 12th Brown: 27th Harvard: 31st Dartmouth: 47th Cornell: 48th Yale: 53rd All 5...

Re: ivy league 2024

What's interesting to me about the 2022/24 Ivy debate is that there was a ton of righteous focus on the RPI in 2022 and not this year. The RPI was as flawed then as today. In any case, did the Ivies deserve all those teams in 2022? Absolutely not and the committee's circular reasoning showed as muc...

Re: ivy league 2024

Exactly. I had the same reaction to the ND "snub" in 2022. It doesn't matter how many 5 stars recruits you have on the roster, or that you won your last three games. The entire season matters. Every game. Win more games and you will make the tournament. I wouldn't change that. It can't be...
