Yes, four losses, but all to top-4 Power-ranked teams.

It's the trend and the eye test that is more concerning, and I don't think the committee uses those any more than they use Power Rankings.

In fairness, by this time of year, I believe the Power Rankings are the best measure of the full body of work, and they show Syracuse ahead of JHU.

I have written before on other forums, but I know for a fact that at one of the highly competitive schools (not JHU, and certainly not an Ivy) all seven figures gets you is a good second look at a qualified applicant (25-75th percentile), not a guarantee.
