Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Seems as if Q establishes a theme (too many late/high hits) and he bends reality to fit. Alot of his moaning was about (to me) clean, hard hits.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Ok after Q1 it’s 5-4 Hop. Offense is crisp and initiating early and often. If the UMBC goalie wasn’t standing on his head it would be 10-4. Garbage goal late from UMBC. Faceoffs are 8-10 JHU with #5 going 8-9. The ride is relentless! A relentless ride by JHU is an expression not often heard on this...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Well of course the first thing that bears mention is the fact that lacrosse rankings in August mean less than nothing. I got to disagree. These rankings mean a whole lot - not in predicting who the best teams are, but in where prospects decide to go. Last August, the same group had JHU rated 25th, ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

maryland just got a possession because ohio states fogo had the wrong color gloves. better recheck the equipment the rest of the way. glove gate is real. I thought that was a real bush move by Maryland. The got a possession near the end of a tie game by using some obscure rule about glove color. Yo...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

IL's "midseason AA" list is out: Mazzone - 3rd team Martin - HM No Smith, Marcille, Angelus, Degnon, Collison, or Grimes (who quietly is up there statistically with some of the top middies). Not surprised by most of those, but the Smith disrespect is ridiculous. I wouldn't want to be his ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

I really like the 2023 JHU lacrosse team. They refuse to give up and they play with intensity and are resilient. I usually don't criticize my fellow Hopkins fans, but the picky criticisms and the "but for" and the "what ifs" are a bit much.  Decisions on the field a...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

This is the starting lineup according to the live stats... A - Angelus A - Grimes A - Krampf M - Bauer M - Collison M - Peshko D - Smith D - Mazzone D - Brown G - Versfeld Interesting to note that when the season started THREE WEEKS AGO, this is the starting lineup we expected: A - Angelus A - Degn...

Back to the drawing board after this one.
When you have nobody to trigger the offense, dodging is what's left. Stat of the day: Angelus averaged 2.7 assists per game; today the entire team had one assist.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

Loss to Delaware doesn't look so bad now On another note: MMlrl2BWQyw Thanks for the clip - it appears PM actually recruits midfielders to play midfield. Cool. Now, all we need to do is move McDermott to his natural position at attack, and I think we'll be ready for Delaware and Navy next year

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022

The immediate problem is, can you hold onto your best players after missing the playoffs two years in a row? If I have a year of eligibility left, do I stay with a Rebuilding project or go to a place with a legit chance at the playoffs and a Final Four? UVA and UMD both have open arms wrt to our to...

Those are Epstein's 98 and 99 goals. Given that this could be the final game of his JHU career, it would be nice to see him get that 100th

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022

Matt Rewkowski started at Duke before transferring to Hopkins. I know he scored some goals in the 2005 season. Rewkowski was a bigger force for Hopkins in '04 - blew out his knee and returned late in '05 and clearly scored some goals though a shadow of the player he was at Duke and the year prior. ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022

Had Hopkins not let the coach go this years team would be better than what we have now. Next year’s team as well. Players left and recruits decommitted. Add back those players snd it becomes a different team. I agree we would have won more this year and (likely) next year too. But here is the thing...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022

PM needs more time to be fully evaluated. I think in due time he will turn out to be a good coach. Now the only two weird and unexplainable things to me about PM which did make me question him some was A. The Epstein situation. Just weird how he handled it but then again I am not on the inside and ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022

I'm happy he's getting to contribute on a good team. I never root against former Jays unless, like, they did something to deserve it and as far as I know Zinn didn't, though InsiderRoll appears to be alluding to some stuff I'm not privy to. I was one of his biggest backers his freshman year when so...
