Re: UVA 2024
I think Morris starts. It’s one thing to pull the starting goalie in the second half of a blowout. Nunes was pulled after giving up four goals in half a quarter in a game that was decided by one. The conventional wisdom said that while Nunes was susceptible to giving up goals in bunches, he was far...

Re: Brown 2024
Hearing a deal is almost at the finish line for the new HC. I think the Brown Bears will hit a home run with this one…could be the perfect guy to get them back on track and quickly. Would expect an announcement this week.

Re: Brown 2024
A real 2 man race now with Thompson out. I never fully expected him to get this gig but since he is an alum and has good stops along the road, he got to be one of the finalists. He will be a HC in D1 sooner than later. Focus shifts down to a fellow coach in the NC area... If it is the case, he will ...

Re: Brown 2024
If Torpey wants this job, he'd be my top choice. Great player at OSU (3x Captain) and has done an incredible job of putting High Point on the map. Has been at Dartmouth and Denver. Sure, he may like the OSU job if/when it opens up, but this would be a home run hire for Brown. Players absolutely love...

Re: Maryland 2024
Deemer Class put together a nice video on how Maryland's offense shredded Princeton. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D47kYzKoVrw Sometimes guys/coaches who’ve been this far just know how to get it all done. Going to be exciting to see how the faceoffs shake out too. If Naso is close to 100% health,...

Cheers to Gait for doing that. Unbelievably helpful in this thread. I’ll look into some trends for those d1 guys in a bit.

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
Per Ty Xanders:

Start the rumors…who do you guys think? Ty makes it sound like there could be some assistants who’ve previously been HC in the running. I’m hearing two of the four are current HC…

Re: Brown 2024
Per the Xanders tweet: https://x.com/tyxanders/status/1790873730102579702?s=61 I’ve heard it’s already down to two. One is a well established current HC at a program that has been to the tournament in the past few years. The other might be still coaching in the tournament. Will be interesting to see...

Re: D3 All Americans 2024
Jack Regenery plays attack. Do these “media” people even watch games???? I'll never forget they had Kyle Tucker from Cabrini as a Pre-season All-American.... the year after he graduated. Cook didn’t make a team last year then USILA announced him as their midfielder of the year…pretty bad showing fr...

D3 All Americans 2024
Sorry for the bit of tardiness on this but here we go. USA Lacrosse Magazine 2024 AA: (I personally think this list is the worst of the three that come out for d3 but just opinion…feel like the d3 coverage is better from the guys at IL and with USILA) FIRST TEAM A — Jude Brown, Salisbury A — Will By...

Re: Transfer Portal 2025
Saw a poster in the D3 tournament thread saying St Lawrence has multiple players taking 5th & 6th years at the D1 level. Any knowledge on that? They have been sending a handful of players up to D1 including Will Helm. Feel like we might hear some names fly around soon as St. Lawrence was knocke...

Re: Brown 2024
AD is thorough and methodical - new hire will have to exceed on her rubric…communicator/charismatic/ player developer/appreciates Brown’s uniqueness/ projects to be in Ivy Tourney annually/discipliner/ recruiting contacts/ teacher….hire by Memorial Day…..salary to be whatever it takes to land the t...

Re: All Americans 2024
Another unintentional problem I have with most AA lists is the skew towards attackman. 27 attackman earned recognition on this list compared to the 22 “close” defenseman. Not a huge gap…but if we are putting 4 A on each team why not 4 D? I know people have to put the ball in the net but guys have to...

All Americans 2024
First look at USA Lacrosse Magazine AA: Some notes…Lyght from ND getting nothing here is very surprising. Kastner at 3rd seems low. Levi Anderson nothing. Jameison (Duke G) thought should at least get HM… FIRST TEAM A – Matt Brandau, Yale A – Pat Kavanagh, Notre Dame A – CJ Kirst, Cornell A – Connor...

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
As for Stimmel, there is also the possibility that, after having experience as a head coach, he has realized that an assistant at a major DI program is the job that is best for him and what he likes the best. Legendary assistant coach Marc Van Arsdale decided the same thing after a stint as the hea...

My last look at the first team after the ODAC tournament: RMC boys moving up after an impressive week!! Congrats to Noke, W&L, Lynchburg for making the big dance…good for the conference! 1st team A- Brown / W&L / Sr. A- L. Kammerman / Roanoke / Sr. A- O'Brien / HSC / Sr. A- Smith / RMC / Sr....
