Re: ivy league 2024
I don't see the NCAA adding teams, they are pretty consistent with their percentages of teams that get in. I think a second NIT type tournament could be well received but really have no idea what the college lacrosse community feels about one. The men's basketball NIT existed before the NCAA sancti...

Re: Brown 2024
Man a quant like you I would’ve expected “risk averse” from. You’re hanging out in my hood if you’re going to start using colorful and incendiary normative comments. I welcome it! https://youtu.be/oG6fayQBm9w?si=sjd0D4I802nSzDjK LOL, I didn't think pointing out that university administrators are ri...

Re: Possible Tournament Upsets?
Of the first eight games, I can think of four where the home team might not make it through: UVA vs St. Josephs : UVA has tremendous talent, but has not been winning. Granted they have been playing the top programs in the country. In contrast, St. Joe's has one of the longest unbeaten streaks in th...

Re: NCAC 2024
Denison goes to Rochester, plays Babson. Looks like this should be a good game; Babson played some NESCAC teams this year, with mixed results. They are in a conference with Springfield, while other conference teams are a clear cut below. If Denison beats Babson, the Big Red will almost certainly get...

Re: ivy league 2024
First time since 2017 that the Ivy is a one-bid conference, and the first time since 2014 that Yale doesn't make the dance.
Go Princeton Tigers!!

[quote="The Orfling" post_id=547356 time=1714936615 .. . The announcers think it will be one Ivy bid, so we will see.. Yes, but these announcers were telling the world in 2022 that Notre Dame would get it based on beating Duke. Then they refused to acknowledge that they were wrong, talkin...

Re: ivy league 2024
Congratulations Princeton! Go get 'em!
Not sure how things are going to break this year for Penn and Cornell (not to mention Army, Virginia, etc). Whatever happens, it has been a fun year full of entertaining Ivy lacrosse.
One more year of Covid grad transfers for the Big 10 and ACC.

Cornell will get in or not get in. I hope Cornell gets in. When I was 12, my dad told me life isn't fair; I think he was right.

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
Who will be on Marquettes short list? Think these are logical bets: Ryan Wellner John Odierna Jon Thompson John Galloway Andrew McMinn Stephen Brundage Justin Ward John Orsen Curious to see if Coach Stimmel lands at Navy. Could he end up back at Yale? Or -He's a Pittsburgh guy- there are a ton of d...

Re: Yale 2024
Good effort from the Bulldogs but they couldn't solve Gianforcaro (they never did -- he played lights out against them every game he faced them); they just couldn't figure out EMO (0-2); they got badly hurt on man down defense (Princeton was 3 of 4, including scoring two in a momentum killing non-r...

Congratulations to Princeton. The Tigers are a good young team peaking at just the right time. I expect them to play well again Sunday.

Re: ivy league 2024
All tremendously worthy honorees. Congratulations to them. As I noted on the Cornell thread, it is a bit surprising that Ryan Goldstein received no recognition. Goldstein led the Ivy Frosh in both goals (14) and points (22). Yes, I agree about young Mr. Goldstein. Perhaps it's that the competition ...

Baxter would be a better option. Someone younger (than either) probably Brown's best bet.

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
Andy Kopelan: As he delved deeper into his role within the PLL, he became increasingly disheartened by the organization's skewed priorities. Instead of fostering an environment that nurtured the players' talents and upheld the sport's values, he witnessed a relentless pursuit of online clicks and m...
