Re: Yale 2019
Yale First Year LSM Spencer Alston rushed for 120 yards on 18 carries in the Bulldogs win over Cornell today. The young man clearly has some outstanding athletic capabilities and it will be interesting to see if that translates effectively onto the lacrosse field. What little video I've seen of him...

Re: Yale 2019
One reason for optimism is that Yale could have Jack Starr in goal for the next three years.

Re: Yale 2019
Two recent Ty Xanders tweets on Yale: Chris Lyons '20, M, Shawnee (N.J.) / @TristateLax just committed to Yale. Excellent athlete who makes plays on both ends. Plus: Spending the day at @YaleLacrosse practice. So impressed with the tempo and intensity for early fall. https://twitter.com/tyxanders?la...

Re: Ivy League 2019
I agree (and yes, I have an NYC bias). The League did some promotions with area youth lacrosse organizations, but not much more. I'd like to see Columbia / NYC again in 2019 with a bit more effort to make the event special and thus fill seats. As things stand now, the venues for the Ivy men's golf a...

Re: Fall Ball Schedules
Okay, this lists a lot of fall ball, but also seems to miss some (for example, appears to omit the Notre Dame at Yale scrimmage; I think some others are missing):

Re: Yale 2019
... Brendan Mackie (Bergen Catholic?) also faced off but like Conor, he was more of an offensive middie in high school. He has had injuries in college. Hopefully he gets healthy. It goes by quickly. When Brendan got injured in the second game of the season against Michigan, it didn't appear serious...

Re: Yale 2019
Interesting post indeed from JAFO. While Ben Reeves was #77, two Yale 2018 All Americans weren't on the list at all: Ty Warner and Conor Mackie. In fact, the only other Eli on that list is Will Robinson, rated a bit more highly than Reeves. Yes, Yale is now getting respect/ink; guess a national cham...

Scrimmage is at a facility where a dome is available, and I'd be very willing to bet the dome will be used.

Re: Yale 2019
Well, however you view IL's ratings, some incoming Yale incoming attackmen are rated: Matt Brandeau, Baltimore Boys Latin #4; Brady McDermott, Brighton NY #23; and Thomas Bragg, Cazenovia NY #37. It's, ummmm, interesting to see the "blue-collar" description applied to someone other than Ya...

No college team has more helmet-art designs than Hop. The 2019 version pictured looks good. I didn't care much for 2016 version worn against Penn State in Pennsylvania.HopFan16 wrote: The NAG Jay makes a triumphant return this fall. These are slick:

Re: NCAC 2019
Here's the link for Crosse Out Cancer Tournament on Sunday 10/7 in Canton, OH....from the NCAC there's OWU, Kenyon, Hiram and Wooster. Schedules of games has not been set. https://www.brlax.net/crosse-out-cancer/ Good ol' Hiram... Nice find, Oldtimelax. I'd say it's pretty clear that OWU is easily ...

Re: Yale 2019
Speaking of Will Weitzel and the defense, it will be interesting to see if he moves into a starting defenseman role in fall ball. Hopefully Aidan Hynes's knee will be recovered enough for him to join Chris Fake in the starting D. Mooney has been a starting FO wing forever (well, starting in 2016, hi...

Re: NCAC 2019
So let's get this started for 2019 season....no one will argue that Denison followed by OWU are the two clear favorites, based on history and who's coming back. Denison only had four seniors graduate and three were very important to the defense (POY Dohoski, George, Burman). Happ was a two-way midd...

Re: Fall Ball Schedules
Last year Yale had a fall-ball scrimmage against Team Israel before hosting Colgate and Providence; seems to me that this year's schedule including Notre Dame is legit.

Ivy League 2019
Last year, the site of the 2018 ILT was announced in mid May; here we are four months deeper into this year and still nothing. Columbia U / Manhattan was not a resounding success... so when will we know about the 2019 ILT? I am partial toward Yale, but still thought the "way ahead" polls m...

Re: ODAC
It seems to me that the only D3 conference that's pretty strong top-to-bottom is the NESCAC. The Centennial has teams with a lot of history that have fallen onto hard times recently. The NCAC is still dominated by two teams. The SUNYAC has 1 or 2 nationally competitive teams; the CAC 3 or 4. So I'd ...

Re: ODAC
Lots of new blood in the ODAC and it's the same teams at the top year after year. How many teams in the ODAC now? Still it's just a shuffling of the top four card in the deck. When does someone other than W&L, Noke, Lynchburg or H-SC make a run? Well, Thatsmell, I think we could say that Noke a...

Re: Yale 2019
Ierlan and Neuman, both Yale newcomers, could indeed make a terrific FO duo... if Shay uses them that way. Last year it was Conor Mackie pretty much all the way, or until the 4th quarter when the opposing team was hopelessly behind. I love the idea of a true duo. The rest of the FO unit will also ha...

Re: Princeton 2019
The headline OOC game might be Denver, but consecutive games against UVa, Hop, Navy and Rutgers should have Princeton well prepared for the Ivy. Great schedule.Typical Lax Dad wrote:Princeton announces 2019 Schedule
