Re: Next Programs To Win National Titles For The First Time?

Biased but am going with Brown and the terrific new head coach former head coach at High Point. Money endowment and interest is there - NIL or the like. New indoor facility being built. Brown is a solid choice. Penn State is an old favorite, although Tambroni has yet to win the big one. People have...

Re: Brown 2024

The press release: https://brownbears.com/news/2024/5/21/mens-lacrosse-jon-torpey-named-rothman-head-coaching-chair-for-mens-lacrosse Torpey looks like a really good hire. He certainly is not a job hopper; so let's hope he does well, and retires upon ending his career, at Brown. A strong Bruno prog...

Re: World Soccer

Oh well, another suckass season of watching UAE moneybags win another title. When is the longest ever investigation of City going to be completed? I really wish FIFA would adopt a NFL-like salary cap. The spending is getting out of hand and its effects the competitive balance of leagues. Yes, the E...

Re: TV Broadcasts/Announcers/Production

In the summary of the ND - Geogetown game that ESPNU ran at least three times, Entemann's save percentage was described as "around 50%." For the record, "around 40%" or "below 50%" would have been more accurate, while "44%" would have been the most exact witho...

Hopkins needs to stay aggressive and keep scoring goals. They’re not going to beat Virginia with 10 goals.

Correct, 10 goals not enough to win, even if 10-7 up looked good. But that crease non-call...

Re: John Tillman: Best Coach in the Game, Right?

Clearly a good coach, probably up there in the top tier. The guy he coached against yesterday has won some natties and has continued to land top recruits, but maybe he's close to retirement age?

Re: World Soccer

A little drama added to final day of EPL GK Emerson out for final game against West Ham and FA Cup final with eye socket fracture from game against Tottenham. It may not make a difference, but still, you don’t want to see your GK out with title on the line. https://www.theguardian.com/football/arti...

Yes, in a disappointing year for the Ivy, Brown was the most disappointing.

Good surprise: Denver, with an honorable mention to Albany.

Terps didn't look like a top team, but a team with a few top individuals. Duke certainly didn't deserve to win; and the Blue Devils were the second seed?

Re: Yale 2025

Yes, Army would be a very good addition. Gotta keep NCAA tourney teams Denver, PSU and Albany. Nearby neighbors (half hour or less away) Sacred Heart and Quinnipiac are much improved, and could be scheduled as mid-week games. I wish Cuse or another ACC team could be added.

Tough year for the NCAC, a conference definitely losing its lacrosse luster. Formerly, a college coach, now a high school coach and know several players at various schools in the NCAC. If anything I would say the league is the most interesting it has ever been. While it has forever been a two-horse...

Long range 2025 Post #2 -- Position groupings: Attack: Even with the departure of Matt Brandau, there's cause for optimism with the attack group, particularly if Chris Lyons and Leo Johnson are healthy. I could see Johnson filling the QB role that Brandau held (he was second behind Brandau in assis...

Yale 2025

Congratulations to Max Krevsky on being elected 2024-25 captain (I saw this via a Brian Tevlin re-tweet).

Lots of reasons for optimism about the 2025 season, but I'll hold off for a while on that.

As HopFan16 said, face-offs. Maryland won 21 of 24 in the Terps-Tigers game earlier this year. Princeton has improved a lot since that game, and McKeekin has looked strong in some games; the Tigers need to neutralize Wierman to have a realistic chance of winning. need to put it in perspective thoug...
