Re: ivy league 2024

New Hampshire in March... As for Massachusetts, from what I've see, Harvard being behind by a goal or 2 in the first half is like Harvard being ahead.

BOOLA BOOLA! I know this is a lax message board but if "Russian Troll" can weigh in, hope you'll all excuse me for a . . . GO YALE BASKETBALL! What a March Madness upset! Next up, San Diego State, last year's D1 runner-up. I have no idea who or how much the Aztecs have lost to graduation,...

Re: NCAC 2024

Conference play this weekend features a crucial match-up that will see Kenyon make the short drive down to Granville to face-off with Denison. Kenyon came from behind to beat Denison by a goal last year in Gambier. Can Kenyon get a massive win in Granville? A decade or so ago, Wittenberg made the NC...

A little bit of Yale MLax in the media: 1. Nice feature article on Matt Brandau in USA Lacrosse Magazine: https://www.usalacrosse.com/magazine/college/men/weekly-cover-matt-brandau 2. Coach Shay was a guest on the Inside Lacrosse "Tailgate" podcast (he joins partway through). I'm sure he ...

Let's not forget that tomorrow there is Dartmouth at Georgetown (kudos to the Big Green for playing the Hoyas), and Penn visiting neighbors St. Joseph's. Go Dartmouth! Go Quakers!

Re: NCAC 2024

Not a great Out-of-Conference performance by the NCAC as a whole, as the teams shift to conference play this week.... Denison (2-4) took on a beast of a schedule with #3 RIT, #8 W&L, #13 Lynchburg and #12Gettysburg and lost all four, with only one of those games being close. The next three are ...

Re: ivy league 2024

Great weekend for the start of Ivy league play -- two high-scoring classics (Harvard-Yale and Cornell-Princeton) and a competitive battle between Brown and Penn. Three teams emerge with the win (Yale, Cornell, and Penn), but the teams starting out at 0-1 showed plenty. Both Harvard and Princeton mo...

Re: World Soccer

Well, Seacoaster was right about Man Utd knocking Liverpool out of the FA Cup. And Man U get Coventry City in the semis, and it would be just like Man U to beat Coventry. Whilst in the old top-flight First Division, Coventry won the Cup final 3-2 over Tottenham, handing Spurs' their first FA Cup fin...

Re: Cornell 2024

Coming right after that poor showing against Penn State, I can understand any lack of confidence a Big Red fanatic might have. My guess is that Cornell bounces back and competes well; still, Princeton at home is a tought ask.

Good luck to the Big Red!

Re: Yale 2024

I don't know what the record is for MOST ASSISTS are in a game but what a game by Matt Brandau. You know this guy is a great goal scorer, but that was one of the most unselfish performances to help his team to a great win. His team, fans, coaches and teammates should be so proud of this guy, with s...

Re: Yale 2024

Thank you, Orfling, for your accurate and insightful summary. I hope that Stuzin will be back soon. In his absence, first-year Michalik got playing time at LSM. I agree with The Orfling's assessment of the goalie play, and I would add that I thought Paquette's clearing game was good. Yale was 17 0f ...

Re: Yale 2024

Before the game started, I counted 7 Yale players not suited up, out injured. Looked to me like the Yale D was playing match-up zone a few times; easier for me to tell in the first quarter.

Encouraging first half; need to stay focused and intense.

Re: ivy league 2024

Great post, Orfling! As a note, for coaches to outvote Coach Byrne on the scheduling of the rivalry games, it would mean that at least one of the Cornell, Princeton or Yale coaches would also have needed to vote for the changed schedule. Personally, I think that it's a shame to change the rivalries...

Crazy good!

Luton has been involved in wildly entertaining games; but they don't win them. If the Hatters get relegated, this game will haunt them.
