Re: D3 Roster Size

Food for thought: many NESCACs don't use lacrosse to put heads in beds and several of those programs were reasonably competitive in 2023 with rosters around 45 - Williams (41), Amherst (46), Midd (46).

Re: Coaching Carousel 2023 - D3

This is the most pathetic thing that’s every been said in the history of the internet. And no 35-40 is not enough to run a fast pace college practice if there are injuries Finally! My moment of glory! I won the internet! In all seriousness, I am terribly sorry to offend - I was only recalling how C...

If there is any justice in this world, JT will land a primo DI HC position (Brown?) in the next 5 years.

Re: Coaching Carousel 2023 - D3

For as many 50+ rosters we see at the top end of D3, there's just as many 20-30 player rosters at the lower end; so I think the average of about 35-40 seems about right. 35-40 is a good size. Anything beyond that, will have kids on the sidelines that will go several games in a row (or never) withou...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024

What’s going on with Albany, I realize many are grads, but it looked to me like they were getting in some top level talent again. Maybe they are just looking to turn over the roster. It’s pretty inappropriate for every D1 athlete to get bogus masters degrees. True, but it was a clever way for the N...

Re: Dartmouth 2024

Jon Thompson would be a great hire for Dartmouth. He was IVY player and knows how to recruit high end academic kids and land them. He did a great job at Amherst and was about to control the NESCAC for years to come before their President went bonkers. He would be unbelievable hire! No disrespect to...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024

With no insult intended to anyone involved, I'm looking forward to this extra-Corona-year thing being over. I understand that top players have transferred from BU to UNC, SU to UMD, Bucknell to wherever for many years. But the transformation of Notre Dame, G'town, etc. due to transfers seems like a...

Re: 2023 FanLax Forum Poll

St. Mary's best win all year was against Mary Washington. I'm not sure how they should be considered a top 25 team. Yes, they gave Middlebury a good game, but I think they would probably lose 10 out of 10 times if they played again. I disagree 100% on the lose 10 out of 10 times. I don’t think many...

Re: NESCAC

RIT is smothering Middlebury through 2 quarters. Noticed that RIT put a shorty on a Middlebury starting attack for the entire first half. Union did the same thing last week to the same player. Not a lock-off, just a shorty. Lets RIT pole Middlebury's two best middie dodgers every possession. The at...

Re: NESCAC

Oof - that was grim. Always surprising when a team dominates faceoffs (17/23) and only wins by a goal. @Tuco has a point - Midd offense is pretty dependent on initiation from one side and is focused on getting it into the crease. Been that way most of the season and Midd staff appears (understandabl...

Interesting, So what would you propose? Not sure anything put forward would be equitable. Don’t understand why # of teams matters. The # of bids is somewhat proportionate between divisions. Why should the conference Marist is in have an AQ and not the conference New England College is in? An 8 team...

Re: D3 All Americans

Who is this Conley kid from Middlebury that is second team? He is fifth in the team in points and frequently does not even receive the LSM matchup in big games. If it is anyone from Middlebury it should probably be Jamin or Thorndike. Also absurd how Swank from Tufts did not even receive an HM. Tha...
