Re: ***********The MIAA "A" Conference 2023**************
To add to this discussion and put it into some visual perspective: The following are the Laxnumbers ratings for the MIAA, WCAC and IAC combined. This is the same formula that powered Laxpower. It focuses on w/l record and score differential. I have some minor quibbles based upon a couple h2h discre...

Re: ***********The MIAA "A" Conference 2023**************
Thus my question as to numbers, and which schools have the most such happening in lacrosse....now. Looks like BL and McDonogh are headed into a mini lax arm's race this Spring and beyond. Don't count out Saint Mary's, they will be right there again in the thick of things with their very strong pipe...

Re: ***********The MIAA "A" Conference 2023**************
Your alma mater, mainly Biff Poggi, took the recruiting arms ace in the MIAA to a whole new level. Gilman's admin turned a blind eye to Poggi for well over a decade as he bankrolled his football teams (no need to open up this can of worms). Naturally, this had a trickle-down effect, and other league...

Re: ***********The MIAA "A" Conference 2023**************
Crazy arms race that's accelerating. Seems like increasingly some are losing their perspective of the big picture of schools educational mission of developing young people. It's kind of sad. The only marquee transfer I am aware of is Georgetown Prep's star LSM (committed to Duke) is headed to McDon...

Terp Talk interview with Tillman 24 hrs after the Championship game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4x7g7YTN3OU It’s a great interview. Tills is normally very PC and does not give much away when he does interview but in this interview he was very chatty. Lots of insights Thanks So much of what he s...

Re: Maryland 2023
Is Bobby Benson returning as our offensive coordinator? Hearing rumors he very well could be headed to Providence. Hoping it's not true, but he's one hell of a coach and shouldn't surprise anyone. He has been the best OC on the Terps staff since the Tillman era began.

Re: My never too early 2023 Top 25
It's hard to see the Terps not being pre-season #1 next year. Sure they might be losing some exceptional players to graduation, but Coach Tillman and his staff are the "X" factor. I believe Terps went 38-1 in the past 2 seasons, that's incredible when you step back and think about it. Whil...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
I don't see Hopkins being a top 10 program for quite some time, and certainly not under the PM regime. To answer your question though, I'd start with being a bit more aggressive in the transfer portal and doing a better job of keeping your own players home and engaged. I recognize kids take on the v...

Re: **********The MIAA "A" Conference 2022**************
Congrats to the McDonogh Eagles on winning the MIAA Championship last night.
I know Millon & Co get a ton of attention but McDonogh's close defensive play was phenomenal last night.
When was the last time a 5th seed heading into the playoffs won the title?

Re: **********The MIAA "A" Conference 2022**************
What was up with Loyola and Gilman this Spring, both programs really seemed to have struggled this year. The Dons only managed to have 6 Ws this season, when was the last time that happened? Gilman drops its final 5 games of the season under a new head coach were the Hounds a super young squad? On a...

Re: **********The MIAA "A" Conference 2022**************
I was able to catch the live stream of the St Mary's - Calvert Hall Game. From start to finish, the Saints were the better team. The athleticism displayed between the lines and on the defensive side of the field tilted in STM's favor. Goalie play also provided to give the Saints a big boost. Calvert...

Re: ~~The MIAA “A” 2021~~
I know its a COVID season and things aren't clearly the same but when was the last time Calvert Hall suffered 3 league losses in the MIAA? They had an amazing run in the MIAA winning 3 titles in a row (nearly impossible to do in a conference as tough as the MIAA) ... is their reign on the MIAA comin...

So, current predictions as to who wins the championship? Have any of your thoughts changed within the past two-three weeks? In order as of TODAY: 1. McDonogh 2. St Marys 3. Spalding 4. Calvert Hall Predictions for this afternoon: LB @ John Carroll 4:00 pm (Dons win in a closer game than the final s...

Re: ~~The MIAA “A” 2021~~
wow its been a few years since I have posted on the site.... it feels good to be back :) My thoughts on the MIAA in general. For so long the Baltimore blue bloods seem to always forget about Saint Mary's down in Annapolis. And seriously save the bus ride excuses, traffic right now really is not that...
