Re: Miscellaneous questions, thoughts, impressions, etc.
On a whim--I searched the word "choke" on the Men's D1 Lacrosse board. https://fanlax.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=290&t=2442 There were 83 matches including a whole topic devoted to choke jobs. I also searched "choked" and "choking" and both returned multiple matches....

Re: Miscellaneous questions, thoughts, impressions, etc.
Agreed. No "choke" nor "tendency to choke"... specious claim. There were "better" teams as evidenced by their winning play on the day of the contests, but no "inferior" teams were involved. Cletus, I think this sort of thing is what gets folks peeved. It's gr...

Re: Growing Older
Getting older? Well, I started to write something about it but then forgot what the hell I was gonna write! Here all week, folks. 😉 It's a problem we oldsters have 24/7. No cure. :( I hear you. I find myself writing reminder notes more and more often...when I can remember to write them.

Blazing Saddles
“We’ll work up a number 6 on ‘em!”
“Number 6? I’m afraid I’m not familiar with that one.”
“Well that’s when we go a-ridin’ into town, a-whompin’ an a-whuppin’ ever livin’ thing that moves within an inch of its life!”

Four Schneidereith sisters on The Stick Drop
Sheehan Stanwick Burch hosts the four Schneidereith sisters and asks each one which rule changes they might prefer. Interesting to hear the players answer off the cuff.

Re: Pinball
I didn't realize pinball machines have been around since the 30's. Imagine--one could purchase this circa 1932 pinball machine for only $16.50!

Re: Will 2022 have some of the best teams EVER?!?
women’s lac entering a golden age of teams at the perfect time with all the new television coverage, gonna be fun! I agree--we are in the early stages of the Golden Age of Women's Lacrosse. No doubt about it with the exploding popularity of lacrosse among young women across this great land. The pla...

Re: Growing Older
When my grandmother was in her late 70’s and confined to a nursing home, my mother asked her if she could go back to any time in her life, her 20’s, her 30’s, etc. – which one she would go back to. My grandmother said her 50’s. That surprised my mother. I can see the rationale now that I am almost d...

Re: Favorite Teams and Players - and other diversions
The Scarlet Knights of Rutgers fit in this topic. They had a season for the books in ‘21. Very enjoyable team to watch . They have some scrappy hard working players. I hope they continue on the upward climb in ‘22. They won’t sneak up on anyone, that’s for sure. https://scarletknights.com/news/2021...

Re: Will 2022 have some of the best teams EVER?!?
The Cuse argument is one that I am not sure about. It isnt like their subs weren't really good. I think of the rating system used for football. Your starter is rated a .950, your back up is a .925 . For what the two players do, is there any contribution drop off from that .025 of a rating point? Th...

Re: WLax Broadcasts and Publications: Comments/Reviews
Diagnosing what turns on the former and actually cultivating it is an interesting discussion. I find less interesting the labelling of a player, or a team, much less a program as "chokers". However, the absence of whatever elements go into creating the dynamic of peak performance, euphori...
