Re: Womens USA team Who you got?

Good question. What would be your guess? Little different than coaches wanting to give underclassmen playtime in order to prepare them for the upcoming seasons when they will be getting substantially more playtime, I'd think that they'd want to have "underclassmen" on the roster. with thi...

Re: No Guarantees

I think their biggest holes to fill are on defense - Woodruff, Wakefield, & Wood all gone. Not sure if Trenchard is taking her 5th year (probably is). I can see JL trying to convert some young middies to defense, maybe Julia Dorsey, Lawton, or Humphrey. Nalls does definitely return which is one...

OKAY SAN DIEGO STATE AZTECS!

WOW! I know these aren't stunning players but still--THREE players transferring there? Good for them. I'm sure Ms. Gait is happy about it.

Re: Penn State

Missy Doherty needs to turn things around next year at PSU. She has a 12-18 record her last two full seasons in Happy Valley. It's a good take, suffolk. Last season was very strange. For the Lions to beat Maryland-- twice --was remarkable. To beat Maryland, a team has to first become un-awed of Ree...

Re: No Guarantees

Carolina has holes to fill but I think they're doing alright on the attacking end. It may not be the depth they had this past season, but no one can really sustain that much depth. Ortega, Growney, Warehime, & Sconone all return (waiting on Growney to announce that officially). Sconone turns a ...

Re: No Guarantees

Moreno has one more year Why would 2022 be Wurtzburger's team when Ortega (all time goals leader and soon to be all time points leader in Carolina History) Mastroiani, Trenchard and Moreno will all still be there??? Why dont you wait for them to graduate before you "anoint" her? My error....

There are more but I don't have time to look into it at this point.      You have more than one obsession or is it laundry day? Here’s a thought on the subject of obsessions—how about you and your bully buddies drop your obsession with trying to pin the supposed ru...

No Guarantees

With Super Sophomore Olivia Dirks transferring from Penn State to the land of Carolina Blue, and Richmond's Samantha Geiersbach rumored to be on the way, the Tar Heels are stocking themselves for another run at the national title. There are some big holes left after '21 however. GK Taylor Moreno gra...

Re: Growing Older

That sounds like a real drag. The arthritis and the transit experience. I imagine that must be a great difficulty—we use our hands for so much all through our waking hours. Does the arthritis get worse in the cold? Defo a drag. And yes, the pain does seem to get worse in the cold esp when it's cold...

Re: Good News!

We can all make our own good news thru RAOK - random acts of kindness. I may have told this story in the old site about a time over 55 years ago when I was in the NYC subway as a 11 year old when my lunch bag broke. I nearly lost my sandwich but was bailed out by a very nice little old lady who gav...

Re: Growing Older

Arthritis. Damnable thing. I get on the city bus and try to find a seat. But before I do all too often the driver is in such a hurry that he/she pulls off the station very rapidly. I have to hold on for dear life or I'll wind up on the ground. A couple of years ago the driver (a woman) pulled out r...

Re: Miscellaneous Thoughts on Film

There are certain male leads I never liked. Richard Gere was one. Bradley Cooper is another. Then there are male leads I've always liked: Pacino, Nicholson, Hoffman. One of my all time favorite character actors was Harry Dean Stanton. Loved him in Repo Man. Here he is in a scene from Christine. It s...

Re: Growing Older

Agh! Have the same problem and worse: often I write notes, forget where in the h∃ll I put them, and then suddenly realize the d@mn note was in my pocket all along! All too often, old age is a bᵢᵢᵢᵢᵢtch on wheels. What kinds of things make old age a b*tch on wheels for you, Brooklyn? Besides the dif...
