Big games today. What're your picks? I've got:

Albion over Hope (Rivalry game. Albion is better, but...)
Trine over Calvin (Close game, but Thunder at home with the edge.)
Adrian over Alma (Adrian should win, but Alma was scrappy)

Big game this week with Albion and Hope. Very early game to potentially decide the #1 seed in the conference tournament. Also interested in the Alma-Adrian game. I am not very familiar with Adrian so interested to see how that game comes out.

Trine beats Alma 15-7. Close game until the third. Trine held off a 2 man down situation and then went on a run to pull away.

Trine would most likely have been off the list last week, but their game with Ohio Northern was cancelled due to weather/lightening. They go into conference play next week and a loss will come in the next week or so.

Any observations on the season so far based on early OOC results? From my perspective, the results to date don't seem to make me think that the preseason poll was significantly off. I think that there is a clear 1/2 and then 3-5 are all pretty comparable.

I agree on the point about the defense. Does them no good to watch the offense play and score with 80%+ of the possession. I think that there needs to be a balance in the scheduling to be ready for conference play.

Carve out Alma and it was a great weekend for the MIAA. What’s the word from the Carthage vs Hope game? Look’d like an even box score with scoring runs. Wow, that was an early start to the regular season for DIII. A win against a mid-table OAC is always a good win for an MIAA team.

I don’t think Adrian has a new coach. I would believe that Adrian would keep following the trajectory they are on and be the third seed again.
