Re: ivy league 2024

Exactly. I had the same reaction to the ND "snub" in 2022. It doesn't matter how many 5 stars recruits you have on the roster, or that you won your last three games. The entire season matters. Every game. Win more games and you will make the tournament. I wouldn't change that. It can't be ...

Re: ivy league 2024

Follow the money for your answer. The NCAA pays the travel costs for the tournaments. They could care less how many at larges for AQ's there are or what the "eye test" says-- they just want a relatively consistent percentage of teams in the post season across the various sports. Men's lacr...

Re: Cornell 2024

Queue the moral outrage from the ESPN shrills about how Cornell and the loser of the ILT final game got screwed by a four bid ACC. Or maybe that won’t happen.

Re: Cornell 2024

Just back from the trip to Ithaca. Congratulations to the Big Red on their victory, it was well earned today. The Crimson unfortunately had a collective down day, but Cornell was relentless. Good luck the rest of the way.

Re: Cornell 2024

I'm sure he will. That is a very common freshman mistake, even for someone as talented as Goldstein. These players are so used to being able to carry the ball in high school that getting them to hit the open man immediately isn't always the first instinct, especially on non-scoring plays like that o...

Re: ivy league 2024

Faircornell-absolutely acknowledge and appreciate all of the work you do each eeek compiling the outstanding performances of all of the IL student athletes (inducing Sam King). My comment wasn’t geared towards you in any way, more at the ACC-centric media. As for the Harvard program, then head coach...

Re: ivy league 2024

If Brandau is being slighted, Harvard’s Sam King is being downright ignored. 2nd in the country in points per game (to Brandau). Not to mention 6 goals and an assist against a Penn defense that held the defending Tewy winner to a goal. Sam has been absolutely electric this year.

Re: Harvard Lacrosse 2024

Another close loss yesterday means the Crimson will need some help to get into the Ivy League tournament. They have to win their remaining games (at Cornell, home vs Brown) and then hope that either (1) Cornell also loses to Dartmouth, or (2] Princeton loses its two remaining games (home vs Penn the...

Re: Brown 2024

Doesn't seem fair to coach or players. If this is about one first-year at attack, he was a four-star IL recruit from one of the top HS programs in the country. You can understand a coach sticking with a guy with that resume and hoping that as the season goes on the freshman leap is made, even if yo...

Re: UVA 2024

Is it really too much to ask a paid lacrosse announcer to know Griffin Shutz’s last name is NOT SCHULTZ, like Seargent Schultz? It’s SCHUTZ, like he ‘shuts’ the door. And he’s got a rocket shot. the announcers for the Harvard game were a refreshing change from the usual tripe..... Thanks for that r...

Re: Harvard Lacrosse 2024

This Harvard team is really close to putting it all together. I don’t think anyone predicted Harvard would be up 9-6 after three quarters, or that they would hold Shellenberger and Millon scoreless for the contest. Just need to click for all four quarters.

Based on tomorrow’s forecast, I would say the schedulers were getting advice from Nostradamus.

Re: ivy league 2024

St. Joe's looked very good and played with great energy. Penn needs more movement on offense to be able to score, and they didn't have it last night. Not to dismiss the loss, but it is one midweek game in a long season. I'm sure they will learn from this and move on.

Thanks for adding the Penn/St. Joe's game, I missed that one. Classic gritty vs. gilded matchup, and has been a one goal game the last three years.

Re: ivy league 2024

Can this week's games match the excitement from last week? We can only hope so. Dartmouth kicks things off today traveling to Georgetown for a mid-week matchup (3pm). Dartmouth coming off a nice win over UVM and a bit of a trap game for Georgetown. But the Hoyas didn't play Saturday and I expect the...
