Re: Byrne for Wojcik
IMHO Wojcik did less with more than almost any coach in the country, year after year he had top recruiting classes and players and proved that at Harvard Lacrosse, The parts were greater than the whole. Look at their IL class recruiting rankings 2012 IL Overall #4 - IVY #1 2013 IL Overall #7 - IVY #...

Re: 2023 world lacrosse men's championship
If lacrosse makes it into the Olympics, the proposed structure is eight teams. The result would be a similar event to the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama last summer. The USA Canada final in 2022 was, basically, a box type game played on a field. Personally, I found the stickwork and competition...

Re: 2023 world lacrosse men's championship
Openly understanding that those two teams have the best players in the world, the lower level teams will provide much more entertaining games. This international game is brutal, and sixes is even worse. I see lacrosse continuing to be a niche sport with the college game being the most entertaining....

Re: 2023 world lacrosse men's championship
i hope they talk about the shot clock and pace of play and possession importance the entire game. no need to make fun of Quint for being repetitive and also for being repetitive. It was nice to hear about fish taco's instead of pizza places and until last night I had never known that San Diego was ...

Re: NCAA Men's Rules Committee Proposes Coaches' Challenges as Part of Expanded Replay
The biggest issue I have is if the make one rule for tournament and another for regular season, some schools have a single camera (or no video at all and others have multiple including games with full ESPN, Big10 or ACC network coverage. I do not think most schools are set up for full replay rule an...

Re: Duke Fans - Sore Losers?
majority of ND fans are just irish and don't have any actual reason of liking them other then that. duke fans are basically Dallas Cowboy fans. it is what it is, i think most fans would be upset losing in a championship game - and a segment of them act irrationally doing so. that was a perfect brea...

Re: Duke Fans - Sore Losers?
And I'd heard the "Kavanagh's are dirty players" accusation....wasn't sure what to make of that... if Pat Kavanagh is on your team you say he plays with heart and if he is an opponent you say he is dirty, personally I would want 10 Pat Kavanaghs on my team any day. As far as dirty, I thou...

Re: Programs with an Identity, Programs without
The point is, only a few programs are in the business of winning a National Championship these days. What the heck - of the last 10 championships we have had 7 different champions and no school has won more than two also if ND or PSU win this weekend we will have another first time champion and an ...

Re: (Presumed) Impact of Grad Student/Senior Heavy Rosters
there's something to be said for having your tribe all in. & it's probably not a coincidence the ivy has about ~50?% of the 5 stars/top 25 coming in. including some decommits to the ivy. have they ever done that before? Not to my knowledge - it's pretty notable. However, it also makes a ton of ...

Really? No teeth? My son got caught up in a misunderstanding back in 2016 that prevented him from practicing for over a month (fortunately partly during Xmas break) because of purported non-compliance with an NCAA regulation against his identifying himself as a lax player at his school in making an...

Re: Why not wait to decide who goes to which site in the quarterfinals until after the first round?
Now that Army has eliminated Maryland, it would make so much more sense to have Army v Penn State in Albany and Virginia vs Georgetown in Annapolis. Why is this not an option? CU - the NCAA called and said take your whimsical Quixotesk logic and stay out of their business. The NCAA tourney has one ...

Re: 2023 NCAA Tournament
Did a little digging and found this is the first time we'll have four different teams in the Final Four from the previous year since 2007. Thanks I had commented on another thread it looked like a fresh set of FF teams for the first time in a while. 16yrs is a while. That was Del and UMBC w Hop and...
