What do you mean?
Going after committed players. Something other coaches have done but Cathy isn't really known for that

Re: Recruiting

Major Flip Alert..Meg Kenny from the 2024 class has flipped to Maryland from UNC. A rarity for sure but not surprising with UNC's ridiculous 2025 class. We were just talking about this not long ago. Could this open the flood gates? maybe.. With recruiting struggles looks like Cathy is taking the glo...

Re: Florida State

You have to think of women's lax in tiers. On any given year, the absolute best UNC,BC, NW teams will be better than everyone. and by a sizeable margin. I don't see that gap closing anytime soon. Extremely difficult to break into that club. so no FSU won't be winning a championship anytime soon. But...

Re: Florida State

We all kind of suspected this was comming but good to have official confirmation. IMO FSU has all the resources, more so than even Clemson to be major player right away. The days of Florida being a contender are all but over with this addition. Gonna be a long line of long island kids headed there

Re: Recruiting

My daughter just finished up. I don’t wish this on anyone. Wow that was hard for her. The offer was great. And yes. Tons of ghosts out there. Although I have to say I’m scared to see what the hell happens in two years to make sure the offer is the same. I couldn’t believe there’s nothing written do...

Re: Recruiting

You can't believe everything you read on the web, but maybe parents and prospective student-athletes consider things like this: https://crimegrade.org/safest-places-in-college-park-md/ I don't think that's it. I'm struggling to find college towns with wlax that have even a C rating. I've been to a ...

Re: Recruiting

Maryland is the greatest program in the history of the sport. Those other places don't have that. In the past this was enough to keep the best MD kids home. in the mid 2000s, in a 3 year span Maryland was getting around 7 of the best 12 girls in the state of Maryland. Naturally over time, lacrosse h...

Re: Recruiting

There has been a trend of top Maryland girls going elsewhere. That's a makes it more of a miss for MD than anyone else because it feels like the landscape has changed for the program and not in a positive light, especially with the on field performances as well. I don't know. just feels like MD need...

Re: Recruiting

McKenzie Brown to NW. great pick up. Small in size as a defender but packs a punch with her speed and athleticism. Will fit in nicely. But that's another top MD kid that has spurned the terps. I'm curious as to what MD fans think of this problem because i've been raising the alarm as an outside obse...

Re: Recruiting

Can anyone remember when the last commitment "flip" occurred in women's lax? I'm thinking Wurzburger from cuse to unc in 2020 but maybe another low profile flip occurred after that i'm not aware of. I find this interesting. Even with the rule changes, this is still prevalent in the men's g...

Re: Recruiting

It’s been great reading through this forum. I’m surprised that Princeton doesn’t have any commitments yet. Any theories on this? Princeton typically averages commitments much later than most schools. I'm not familiar with the enrollment process at Princeton (maybe someone with more knowledge can sh...

https://www.usalaxmagazine.com/high-school/girls/a-parents-perspective-ghosts-do-exist-in-college-lacrosse-recruiting Nice little article written by a parent going through this recruiting cycle. Re: Recruiting

I don't recall anyone thinking AS would transcend the game or calling her a generational talent. She was well ahead of her peers as a freshman and she deserved hype as the number 1 player in her class yes. But the only player that was viewed that way was Chloe Humphrey because she was just as domina...

Re: Recruiting

What's with the CUSE hate? i said this recruiting class on a NORMAL year would be the best in the country. this is not a normal year because of UNC's crazy class. Also everyone knew where AS was going. It wasn't a hard get but an IMPORTANT one because CUSE is getting another great player that will ...

Spallina to CUSE. Had to sweat it out there for a while..things got nervy but family was always going to win out. HUGE get for KT CUSE now with their best class in History. On a normal year they would have been by far the biggest winners and this class would have been best in the nation by a good ma...

Re: Recruiting

Duke with a disastrous recruiting class. In the past they've been able to float by with talent despite poor coaching. That talent is drying up. They have 2 commits this cycle. BC should get a couple more. They got Jordyn Krafchick today but even with that, they also only have 2 commits. Still a litt...

Re: Recruiting

To be honest, sounds like you have done your research and have alot of information on all schools. But you're really splitting hairs here. Academically, Yale is the best. Lax wise, Dartmouth has the brightest future. In 3-4 years they will have the most talented team in their history. The Hapgood si...

Re: Transfer portal

update from US Lax mag https://www.usalaxmagazine.com/college/women/division-i-womens-impact-transfers-for-2024 While I don’t blame or dislike LoPinto for transferring at all. Her reason for wanting a higher academic challenge is not valid. UF is just as good of a school if not better than BC. Both...
