Re: Has lacrosse “bubble” started to pop??
When lacrosse first started up in our area, you could rent the equipment. Give it a try and see if you liked it. Parents and kids had fun and it was laid back. Those days are done. You want to know why kids are stressed? In the tri-state area it's about what college your kid will attend. Football ha...

Re: Yale 2020
Mid-Lax. There is no indoor practice facility. The team is lucky that Andy Shay approved a heated field.

I thought Yale always bragged about how it wasn't about the locker rooms but the team culture.
Guessing that might change.

Wouldn't it be nice...
Think of all the kids recruited who stuck with the team, worked their a$$es off and really didn't get much playing time so no coverage regarding who they are, interests, where they headed. How about a regular story line in Inside Lacrosse about them? Or here. No PLL, No MLL, but the kid who became a...
Re: Brexit
The Brits could crash and burn for all many of us care, but they will drag the Irish down with them. You want to know why the Irish stand with the Palestinians? Subjugation and the years of being treated as an inconvenient after-thought. You put a hard border up between the North and the free South ...

Re: Maryland 2020
So then why did Brandau choose Maryland? He had a spot at Georgetown and the education is probably at a higher level than Maryland. (Don't anybody get in a snit. Look at acceptance numbers.) So what was he thinking? Or what was he promised? ORRR, did he put his hat in the ring and there were no take...

Re: U-19 tryouts
How about a lottery? That original group of talented kids. Lottery by position and now let's see how REALLY good a coach is.
Saw a story in women's lax. Israel beat Ireland. Yeah, but that's with four powerful American players. Now tell me, is that fair?

Hasn't Stimmel moved from Yale? So how can anyone really attribute those players to him. Could have easily cut them if they have less talent than others

Re: Byrne: From Notre Dame to Harvard
Team culture. From what I hear, "welcome on board" is non-existent. Upper classmen don't know younger kids names. No doubt an exaggeration but that kind of talk is based on something.

Re: The Lax bro culture 2020
Don't see the draw to these "professional" teams. From what I understand, guys, if they have a real job, have to use vacation days to travel. There is no money in it. It just seems to be an extension of their childhoods. I get playing for a year for yucks but other than that... And who is ...

My understanding is that Corrigan is a bit of a jerk but Byrne makes it tolerable.

Re: Harvard 2020
Byrne is a great addition and about time for him. My son seriously considered ND simply because this man was so down to earth. Problem with ND was/is the travel for the team is ridiculous. Let's see Gerry can use that Irish (in the real sense of the word) charm to get some of the LI kids (and parent...

Re: Pre-2020 summer transfers
I'm pretty sure that Brandau can't join his brother at Yale as Ivy league admissions closed last week, unless they make some sort of exception. Brandau won't have to look very far for teams that could use a goalie—Maryland, Hopkins, Towson, Loyola all seem like decent options for the Boys Latin pro...

Re: Tweak the College Rules
Don't think you can ever compare it to the women's game. If you have a 6'2" woman you will win the draws. So should they have to be the same height? Talent is talent. This will all die down when TD graduates.

My guess is Cuse and Albany will be the favorites to land him.

Don't rule out Yale.

Right now Shay better worry about finding assistant coaches and not about some additional player. Not to mention why would he switch to a program when he has no idea who his coach will be?

Re: Yale 2020
Yale had three highly successful students. Magna, cum laude and with Distinction all of which are considerably higher than a 3.0. Never saw a lot of playing time. Can't do much to control that. And considering that more than a few of them are heading to finance, there are GPA requirements on the par...

But doesn't this take poaching to a whole new level? What about the BU coach? Isn't this a slippery slope?
