Re: Haudenosaunee 2022

I imagine the best of the Iroquois players could try out for the US or Canadian team, depending upon where they live. Wa-Tho-Huk won some gold medals for the US, a while back. The Iroquois could still put together their own team for tournaments like Lake Placid. It isn't about individuals playing i...

Re: Georgetown 2020

Facility long time coming and great for many sports on many fronts. Ironic that we started this during the financial crisis and finished finally during a global pandemic. I know for lacrosse this is a big deal. Can finally host the BET. Let’s go Hoyas! Yep - facilities are a huge deal. It show comm...

Re: Georgetown 2020

I think the dilemma when you look at Goonan is - are you sure he would contribute? Gtown pretty much returns their entire starting defense and adds a couple top 50 recruits to the mix on D (one being a 5 star). Seems to me they have been pretty selective with who they’ve gone after. McCarthy would ...

Re: Georgetown 2020

Yes, great interview. Also some good takeaways for those looking to get recruited and expectations from the coaching staff for the freshman once they arrive on campus. any news yet on Connor McCarthy yet, I heard it was between PSU and Gtown. McCarthy to UNC. I imagine we're done now with the possi...

Re: Georgetown 2020

I'd imagine playing time is dependent on production and matchups. It's not inconceivable that a freshman could be a starter if he adapts to the college game quickly but experience in the college game counts for a lot. Thankfully we're in great shape from a talent perspective and I have no doubt the ...

Re: Georgetown 2020

It’s a really small thing and there’s some other boards way worse about it (cough, big ten schools except PSU, cough), but it always sounds funky to me when kids taking the graduate year are referred to as a pickup like part of ones fantasy sports team. The term has never been used to my knowledge ...

Colgate's Petkevich to Georgetown
Very good pickup for the Hoyas. He's a good player that can play several positions well which will make it easier to get him on the field without huge disruption to the current team.

Re: Georgetown 2020

Here's a good interview with Phipps. Ryan Flanagan (PLL Chrome/UNC/director 24/7 lacrosse) talks to him about a bunch of topics. Phipps confirms only 2 current seniors are coming back. From a senior thank you video we know that's Carraway and Bean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YW2K5h27jAk 24/7 ha...

Re: Georgetown 2020

Finn Goonan (LSM) from Michigan is listed in the transfer portal. On his IG page he list Michigan alumni and then has Georgetown University listed. Anyone hearing anything? He's headed to Georgetown for a Master's degree but that's not an indication he wants to play lacrosse, might have put his nam...

Tantalizing.... Jesse Peno @Peno45 Replying to @quickstickblog and @HoyasMLacrosse They’re getting a hell of an attackman from Massachusetts https://twitter.com/Peno45/status/1269028880096034817 Could be talking about 2020 commit Aidan Carroll. https://www.insidelacrosse.com/recruiting/profile/46390

I hope so. Whatever the Hoya staff chooses to do I trust them but McCarthy is a special player that has been hidden by injuries for years. He's going to go off next season, just as he was before this season was cancelled.

Re: Georgetown 2020

Georgetown actually has a 1 year program that will begin this year from what I am told. Agree that has been a major issue with Conley, Aslanian staying and other 5th years coming. Hopefully that has now changed. I believe the attack situation will play out exactly as you said and look for a midfiel...

Re: Here we go again with the Face Off

1979 was not a bad year. Please be mindful of this, the longest delay in a lacrosse game is after a goal is scored. It takes nearly a minute to begin action again, if you want lacrosse to GROW outside of lacrosse "people" via television the game needs to speed up after goals. More shots, ...

Re: Georgetown 2020

Two interesting things to point out in regard to the Hoyas and the current situation. 1) Georgetown is one of only a few teams in country with no young man in the transfer portal. I think that speaks volumes for what the boys think of the program. 2) Yes, Georgetown clearly would have welcomed Sowe...

Re: Georgetown 2020

Grant to Hopkins as OC. Hopefully that means Phipps and assistants stay in place for 2021. That staff is crucial to the success of the Hoyas. Continuity is critical right now. I think Georgetown is on the cusp of something great. The last couple of recruiting classes have been terrific and the team...

Re: Georgetown 2020

Roll Dodge, I totally agree. My sense is both coaches and players feel they have the culture and talent to compete at a very high level as is. Look for one attackman to definitely be added and possibly a midfielder. The D2/D3 part is very interesting and don’t know that landscape well enough to com...
