Re: NCAC 2021

Full disclosure, I am a Denison fan, and no disrespect to Kenyon at all because they beat everyone they faced. Just lamenting that Denison and OWU didn't get the rubber match. Agreed. Kenyon beat just two teams and played four division games -- Wooster and a new program in Allegheny -- to advance t...

Re: NCAC 2021

....and their last two games with OWU. The Bishops season is finished, unless they can schedule another game for their seniors, which they are trying to do.

Re: NCAC 2021

Denison finally returns to action tomorrow @Wittenberg, after a two week lay-off due to COVID postponements. They have only played six games (5-1 record) so far and have just two left--- both against Witt. To get to the divisional playoff game against Kenyon, they have to beat Wittenberg by 10+ and ...

Re: NCAC 2021

Denison played everyone early and often and 16 different players scored. Wabash just isn't any good. DePauw beat them by 20 and 21 goals. OWU and Wittenberg will do the same unless there's some cosmic intervention. This whole split division concept was created because NCAC was concerned about the tw...

Re: NCAC 2021

From an AD at an NCAC school....tie-breaker rules for Lacrosse Division Championship....one representative from each... Men’s Lacrosse 1. Head-to-Head competition between the tied teams. 2. Point system: Three points for a regulation win, two points for an overtime win, one point for an overtime los...

Re: NCAC 2021

Too bad these two had to play each other twice the second week of the season. What lays ahead is not exciting. DePauw just beat Wabash 26-6, and they lost to Illinois Wesleyan 32-7 and Elmhurst 18-8. Wittenberg is 1-3 and has lost to Centre, Kenyon and Transylvania, schools that Denison and OWU woul...

Re: NCAC 2021

Both games count for the NCAC West. If both teams run the table against Wittenberg, Wabash and DePauw (other teams in NCAC West), then the first tie-breaker is goal differential. If the goal differential is the same over the two games (and here it is +1 each), then the next tie-breaker must be the s...

Re: NCAC 2021

Denison lost a close one because they had more turnovers and had more failed clears than the Bishops. They dominated face-offs and had more shots and ground balls. It did appear to me that the Bishop defensive mids and d-men pressed out on the Big Red offense more, while defensively Denison packed c...

Re: NCAC 2021

I thought it actually was very well played considering both of these teams only had one game....this is usually the last game of the season. The ante gets upped even more on Saturday, and becomes a must-win for The Big Red....too bad students from both schools can't attend, but we will take whatever...

Re: NCAC 2021

Weird not seeing Kenyon on the Denison schedule....they are only 25 miles apart and have played each other forever -- they have a trophy (Thomsen-Heiser) for the winner.

Re: US Lacrosse Top 20

The other reason why Salisbury is the team to beat is their incomparable face-off man is back, Brett Malamphy who rolls at 77%. Was first team All-American as a sophomore and would have been one again last year.

Re: NCAC 2021

Sounds like divisions were set before Oberlin bailed, and lacrosse might not be the only sport forced into this type of deal, so: West -- Wabash, DePauw, Denison, OWU, Witt East -- Allegheny, Hiram, Oberlin, Wooster, Kenyon OWU and Denison won't be happy, but geographically it's hard to argue. Ther...

Re: NCAC 2021

One promising sign -- league is posting schedules for both Men's and Women's Basketball....limited conference schedule starting 1/28 - 3/6. Looks like they are splitting the league in half and each school has a home and away series.
