Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Nice pickup. Bertelsen flew under the radar as a soph playing behind senior Ross Prince for Springside Chestnut Hill, who is one of the top FOGOs in the ‘24 class, headed to Georgetown. Bertelsen has good size at 6’, 185, and played well when he got the chance against top competition, e.g., won 7 of...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Not to put too much weight on the positions listed on the roster, particularly in this era of position-less offense, but Charboneau lost his A and is listed exclusively as a M (not that he played much at either spot), leaving Sorichetti and Cooke as the only listed backup A. Bauer and Iler could cer...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
It’s early but Lawrenceville has 4 guys in IL’s top 100. The best is 5* A Hanson Peck #15, who isn’t considering JHU according to IL. 4* M Ponting #28 to Princeton. 4* M Morgan #66 uncommitted (no indication of schools being considered). 4* LSM #69 Stamnes is the only one considering Hopkins, again ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
If memory serves, Testa will be the first St. Andrews recruit during Tony’s ten years there. Coppersmith and Bartzokis pre-dated him. Maybe he finally got over it.

3 current and future Blue Jays among 77 trying out for Nadelen’s U20 team. All long sticks: Kilrain, Eye and Kaestner.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Interesting that, by hiring Ierlan to fill the DOLO (non-coaching/non-off-campus recruiting) spot and promoting Cohen to the third assistant, Milliman clearly prefers Cohen's coaching acumen over Ierlan's even though both lack college coaching experience. Cohen is obviously more of a known quantity ...

Football team won its first round playoff game 62-20 over West. Conn. St. at Homewood. 11-0 and 14 straight wins. Good weather but only 620 at the game. Next: Union.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Having just landed its 10th 2025 commitment, this class already matches (or exceeds if Lumpris plays football) the 2024 class, which will likely remain small given the post-Covid overcrowded roster. Guessing there will be a few more additions to the 2025 class as things return to recruiting status q...

Re: 2025 Recruitment
An update on IL's 2025 Top 50 recruits as we near the end of the first month of recruiting: 44 of 50 have committed to 14 schools (all the usual suspects--no sleepers); the remaining 6 include 3 of the top 5 (#1 Millon, #2 Merrill and #5 Hopper). Be interested in knowing whether this is faster than ...

Rawson's brother Ted, a 4* middie, to Ohio State. The other Lawrenceville brother connection, Sawyer English, also a 4* middie, to Brown--so much for brotherly love. Each of the English's went to different schools--UNC, PU (now SU), JHU and Brown.

Re: 2025 Recruitment
To fill the time before fall ball starts, here's an update on IL's Top 50 recruits so far: 34 have committed, but none of the top 5. Leaders out of the gate are ND (7), Duke (5), UVa and UNC (4), and Princeton (3).

Re: 2025 Recruitment
Since 9/1, 16 of IL's 2025 Top 50 have committed, including 4 of the 19 5*s. Of the 16, 4 Gs and 4 FOGOs, and only 1 of the top 10 (#9 G Seibel to MD).

Sounds like an even trade for Ben Morris, the 4* 2024 LI A who was our only A in that class until he flipped to Navy.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Minor correction: Luke is a promising recruit but his dad is Paul, not Peter. Paul was no slouch as a ssdm and captain on the 2000 Final 4 team.

Re-posting this item from the Coaching thread about Petro possibly moving to UNC as DC to highlight Chris misspelling his last name twice differently in this short post—it’s summer and he was heading to the beach, but I liked “Pietrolama”!

Hopkins baseball loses title game 7-6. Congrats to Coach Babb and the team on another great season. Young team so expect they’ll be back.
