Re: Georgetown 2024
imo, georgetown needs one more ooc squad they know is gonna finish top 20. for now loyola's inside that, and penn, nd, jhu you can count on. as well as they've fared at times, richmond, high point, can't be considered what you might need if they all don't hit numbers in a given year. you already ha...

Re: Georgetown 2024
In my opinion they got themselves out of offensive sync when they tried to wind down the shot clock with each 2nd half possession. Now, I understand this strategy essentially worked for them in their win over ND, but I feel it walks a razor's edge. You're essentially banking on the ability to pull ...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Agree that this was a tough loss. ND, Hopkins and Denver are top 5 RPI teams and a 1-2 record with 2 2-goal losses is not bad. The Loyola loss hurts but they have trended towards a top 20 PRI now so it is not a horrible loss. I agree that the strategy should be win and in, and think that playing Den...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Weird game. Another tight one with Marquette is nothing new. To win 11-8 and lose virtually every face off says a lot about this team. Defense played a lot of minutes and still holding a team to 8 goals is impressive. Moore good bounce back game. Offense was balanced and patient vs a largely zone d...

Re: Georgetown 2024
I agree that the stretch from High Point through Marquette gives the team a chance to develop beyond the slower, invert style that worked well vs. ND.This stretch allows for introducing a faster pace including more fast breaks, and to revisit the up top/wing attack approach. The stretch after Marque...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Big East play begins with Hoyas starting to really gel as a team. Still, away from winning the BET, they would need to largely take care of business to get an at large bid. At Providence Home Marquette At Denver Home SJU At Nova Assuming hold serve vs Providence, Marquette and SJU, the games at Den...

Re: Georgetown 2024
This was a big win for the Hoyas. They beat a top 20 team on the road in a likely must win to keep chance for an at large bid alive. Richmond was very experienced and has a good attack, yet the defense did very well against them. Banks was on a senior attacker and did very well. Stairs is very solid...

Re: Georgetown 2024
I agree that the second midfield is a very valuable aspect of this team. Goldberg and Cesare have excellent speed and quickness and can both pass and shoot. Cesare gets himself in good position for shots and they finally fell yesterday. Goldberg inverting on a SSDM adds dodging ability and allows Ha...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Good game by the Hoyas. High Point is experienced and well-coached but the talent and athleticism of GU was too much. Moore and Banks are special talents. Moore was incredible in the second half, and his clearing is excellent. Banks essentially shut down their best attack man, a fifth year senior. I...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Warne rolling around on the ground is really a bad look. Act like you have been there before. Ironically they have been there before, since they won at Arlotta two years ago. Warne is a character -- whether you love his antics or hate them, he's authentic and wears his emotions on his sleeves. It's...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Any opinions on having Carroll as the X attackman? He had a few COD goals in first two games that reminded me of Minicus. Haley has played well but drawing a short stick hurts the midfield , which is downfield dodging dominant from up top. Carroll at X doesn’t take a pole off Haley necessarily but ...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Woof. Brutal effort and not how you want to start off a season. Obviously some growing pains with the loss of senior leadership, but felt a lot like the first couple games of ‘23 today. Still a lot of season left and way too early to write this team off, so let’s leave the pitchforks in the garage ...

Re: Georgetown 2024
The comments regarding the two scrimmages show that there is room for optimism this year. As talented as last year’s team was, it was an uneven season. The combination of a new OC, integrating 4 grad transfers and two goalie changes was challenging despite the talent last year. This team has a lot o...

Re: 2025 Recruitment
It would be interesting to see the role that NIL money is having in recruiting of this class. Now that NIL has become more established, is this having a significant effect on recruiting of HS players?

Re: Georgetown 2024
A pair of 4 star Top 20 attackmen decide on @HoyasMLacrosse in Anthony Rodriguez of Loomis Chaffee (Conn.) /3dUpstate and Natty Mason of Milton Academy (Mass.)/3dNewEngland. Two really efficient goal scorers that could complement each other very well on the Hilltop. https://twitter.com/tyxanders?ref...

Re: Georgetown 2024
I think claiming it’s doubtful MD would’ve won the 22 title is pretty specious. Regardless of how good Donville and Khan were. That team was loaded and a defensive monster with the shorties and goalie play, not to mention the face-off dominance -- so there's certainly an argument that the talent/ex...

Re: Georgetown 2024
I think it has less to do with the sheer number of transfers for the Hoyas and more so the optics of the majority of the offense being 5th year "mercenaries." Coupled with the slow 0-3 start they sorta became the poster child of the potential pitfalls of going heavy in the portal. The tea...
