Re: Georgetown 2025
GU’s top rated recruit for next year is a middie from McDonough, so this should help. It is also important to realize that most teams lose a lot, given the end of the COVID year. Denver and Nova lose a lot, especially Denver, and top teams like Hopkins, Duke and ND also lose a lot. So GU’s losses, w...

Re: Georgetown 2025
The defense will take a big hit at all levels including loss of top 3 SSDMs. The SSDMs will be hard to replace and a transfer might be needed. It will be interesting to see if Tominovich will take another year due to the injury this year as he is very capable at both close D and on faceoffs. GU has ...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Hoyas had a great season. 6th straight conference title, tying the D1 record. Only team to beat the consensus #1 during regular season. Seeded playoff team. Beat a 2x consecutive FF team in first round. The issue continues to be how does this program get back to Memorial Day Weekend? Is this a team...

Re: QF #1 Notre Dame vs #8 Georgetown Saturday @ noon
I know he does and Rolldodge gave a sound response to a respectful question....I don't think that he needs a translator. My response was more in regard to the backup fogos comment. Agree he doesn’t need a translator as this entire thread is in the same language. This thread is a dead end to discuss...

Re: QF #1 Notre Dame vs #8 Georgetown Saturday @ noon
Hess fought for the GB, won it, and was harassed by ND into a TO. End of story.

Re: QF #1 Notre Dame vs #8 Georgetown Saturday @ noon
When ND is winning 80% of its face offs it’s ballgame over for any opponent. This is like the 2021 GU game vs. UVA, losing their faceoff guy at Hofstra. UVA would have won anyway but this game would have been a contest with anywhere near equal possessions.

Re: QF #1 Notre Dame vs #8 Georgetown Saturday @ noon
I think ND wins this comfortably. Ball is hurt, that could slant the field. ND has the revenge factor going for it. Ball is not hurt. He had a bad cramp in the 2nd half. He missed the 4Q for cramp? Ball grabbed his right calf during scrum after face off. It could be cramping as he took every faceof...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Incredible game by the Hoyas today in front of a packed Cooper field crowd. Very impressed by the way they bounced back following a sluggish start. Credit to coach Warne for making phenomenal adjustments and calling good timeouts to stop the bleeding when PSU went on runs. Anderson Moore was outsta...

Re: ivy league 2024
The perfect storm for Ivys were:
Injuries to Yale and Cornell to a lesser extent
Weaker than usual Harvard and Brown caused a bottom 3 with poor RPIs
COVID transfer talent drain
Karma for 2022?

Re: Georgetown 2024
That was one of the more stressful games in recent memory. Georgetown did everything in their power to lose that game and still came out with the victory. Suppose you could say great teams win on their worst days - this would be that. That said, love seeing AC step up and be the guy when it mattere...

Re: Georgetown 2024
imo, georgetown needs one more ooc squad they know is gonna finish top 20. for now loyola's inside that, and penn, nd, jhu you can count on. as well as they've fared at times, richmond, high point, can't be considered what you might need if they all don't hit numbers in a given year. you already ha...

Re: Georgetown 2024
In my opinion they got themselves out of offensive sync when they tried to wind down the shot clock with each 2nd half possession. Now, I understand this strategy essentially worked for them in their win over ND, but I feel it walks a razor's edge. You're essentially banking on the ability to pull ...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Agree that this was a tough loss. ND, Hopkins and Denver are top 5 RPI teams and a 1-2 record with 2 2-goal losses is not bad. The Loyola loss hurts but they have trended towards a top 20 PRI now so it is not a horrible loss. I agree that the strategy should be win and in, and think that playing Den...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Weird game. Another tight one with Marquette is nothing new. To win 11-8 and lose virtually every face off says a lot about this team. Defense played a lot of minutes and still holding a team to 8 goals is impressive. Moore good bounce back game. Offense was balanced and patient vs a largely zone d...

Re: Georgetown 2024
I agree that the stretch from High Point through Marquette gives the team a chance to develop beyond the slower, invert style that worked well vs. ND.This stretch allows for introducing a faster pace including more fast breaks, and to revisit the up top/wing attack approach. The stretch after Marque...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Big East play begins with Hoyas starting to really gel as a team. Still, away from winning the BET, they would need to largely take care of business to get an at large bid. At Providence Home Marquette At Denver Home SJU At Nova Assuming hold serve vs Providence, Marquette and SJU, the games at Den...

Re: Georgetown 2024
This was a big win for the Hoyas. They beat a top 20 team on the road in a likely must win to keep chance for an at large bid alive. Richmond was very experienced and has a good attack, yet the defense did very well against them. Banks was on a senior attacker and did very well. Stairs is very solid...

Re: Georgetown 2024
I agree that the second midfield is a very valuable aspect of this team. Goldberg and Cesare have excellent speed and quickness and can both pass and shoot. Cesare gets himself in good position for shots and they finally fell yesterday. Goldberg inverting on a SSDM adds dodging ability and allows Ha...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Good game by the Hoyas. High Point is experienced and well-coached but the talent and athleticism of GU was too much. Moore and Banks are special talents. Moore was incredible in the second half, and his clearing is excellent. Banks essentially shut down their best attack man, a fifth year senior. I...

Re: Georgetown 2024
Warne rolling around on the ground is really a bad look. Act like you have been there before. Ironically they have been there before, since they won at Arlotta two years ago. Warne is a character -- whether you love his antics or hate them, he's authentic and wears his emotions on his sleeves. It's...
