Re: ivy league 2024
Ivy League fan here through and through. Reality is that the NCAA Tournament doesn't need more games. While the sport has grown exponentially over the past 20-30 years, the number of D1 teams has grown more modestly. Until the number of colleges and universities playing the sport increases significa...

Re: Yale 2024
Sloppy writing on my part - you are correct that the defense was not much improved! My mistake on that one. It isn't clear why this defense is so disconnected and also why they are so non-physical on the field. Watching the Penn defense ... they hit more in one game than Yale did all season. Not tha...

Re: Yale 2024
Hear hear! I have said all year that I thought this was the coach’s best coaching job of his tenure given the rash of full-year injuries that hit the team early in the season. There are very few teams that could have done what Yale did with two starting attackmen, the top midfielder, and a starting ...

Re: ivy league 2024
Hate to say it, because I'm a Cornell fan, but they had their own fate in their hands ( Home Field, 1st seed), and blew it. I don't think Penn was good enough to be selected, and they beat Cornell twice. Bingo. There should be no Ivy whining this year and I’m a huge Ivy fan. Cornell and Yale each n...

Re: TV Broadcasts/Announcers/Production
I wish that I knew the names of the announcers who did the Big Ten final last night - Benedetti? - and today's Patriot League final because they were knowledgeable, straight-forward, and more importantly let the lacrosse speak for itself. They are in direct contrast to Carc and Quint, who are obviou...

Re: ivy league 2024
Not a chance IMHO that another Ivy makes it. If Cornell or Yale had won on Friday night they would likely be in, but the Penn beatdown of Cornell and the Princeton win over the depleted Yale squad ended those hopes.

Re: TV Broadcasts/Announcers/Production
The two guys who hate the Ivies the most get sent to Ithaca to cover the Ivies. They must have done something to irritate the powers that be who said ... "yeah well we are sending you to cold Ithaca for behaving poorly!"

Re: Yale 2024
Yale tries to win on one leg again to no avail. Kudos to Machado for giving it a shot but can't lose 80% of the faceoffs and have a shot to win. The car ran out of gas - too many injuries to beat a decent but hardly great Princeton team.

Another face-off less game for Yale. Bummer.

Re: Brown 2024
Good to hear. Amazing how due process got thrown out (and still is sometimes). Thompson has to be on and at the top of the list if he was vindicated. As someone who was indirectly deeply involved ... he was railroaded at Amherst in the most vile of ways. And every aspect of what happened ultimately...

Re: Brown 2024
Jon Thompson has the resume - he is groomed for HC. Query - does he have the charisma to recruit and be a head coach? I guess people that know him or have coached with or played for him would know Thompson was a remarkable recruiter at Amherst, which probably scares folks because of the recent Tuft...

Re: ivy league 2024
To be clear on Yale's faceoffs against Princeton ... it was not a contest. It was the equivalent of watching a high school JV player trying to face off against a seasoned veteran for Princeton. 21-6 was the final tally but with the two immediate turnovers it was closer to 23-4. Try that one on for s...

Re: ivy league 2024
Quint and Carc are coming to Ithaca to call the ILT! High praise. I wish at least Quint would go to the ACC tourney instead given his public disdain for the Ivies, especially in a year when the Ivies are not as strong as they have been in prior years. He has so much trouble giving praise to any of ...

Re: Yale 2024
Kudos to Princeton for a good effort today especially in goal. Princeton goalie didn't face much in terms of firepower but he saved what he was asked to save plus some. A good win for Princeton. For Yale, this game was over before it started with the only three FOGOs all seriously injured. Faceoffs ...

Re: Yale 2024
The most interesting aspect of this recent Yale out-of-conference run, by far, is the splitting of goalkeeping responsibilities. To the best of my knowledge, this has never occurred under Shay's direction. Curious whether long-time Yale supporters view this as I do - a real chance to see if the youn...

Re: Tewaaraton Award 2024
Pesion was on Brandau, who managed to run by him on several occasions. So Brandau had eight points tonight against a preseason first team All American who is also a midseason first team All American. Those waiting for him to face better opposition - tonite was that night. And he exceeded his points ...
