Re: FanLax Forum Poll
Also Navy wins with more input from Larkin. Not sure what happened with her she never seemed to get involved. Navy wins if they didnt miss open shots or hit pipes....I joke....Yes, you are correct...that game was very un-Kelly like. 1 Point? She averaged 5.76 P a game last year..... Was there a fac...

Re: Miscellaneous questions, thoughts, impressions, etc.
One positive takeaway from the officiating this weekend...from the Navy game. There were three yellow cards called for excessive or high cross checks. Given that was supposed to be a Point of emphasis, I will take that as a positive.

Re: Big 10 Women’s Lacrosse
They do have some work to do on defense but I think a lot of the goals they gave up were from mistakes, poor decision making in the moment, and let’s face it, garbage time goals at the end, rather than lack of talent or faulty strategy. We shall see as the season goes on however. IMHO, the D will o...

Re: Monday Night Lacrosse — Stony Brook at Syracuse
5pm — Stony Brook at Syracuse — ACC Network Very interesting matchup, although I think Syracuse will overwhelm Stony Brook in the end. The Seawolves will come out with their hair on fire I’m guessing. If they have any chance of winning they’re going to have to jump on the Orange right away. They’re...

Re: Northwestern 24 Duke 20
This Northwestern squad is a Wagon! So many weapons on offense. I see they have been working on their ride. They have an excellent draw specialist in Dwyer. Wow is she nifty and fast and shifty and elusive. Teams aren't going to be able to key on Izzy with the bevy of other offensive talent on that...

Re: Miscellaneous questions, thoughts, impressions, etc.
What a great start to the 2020 season! So what did we learn about the Top 20 or so that we didn’t already know?....not that much as it turns out. Carolina’s good and JMU is still rebuilding. Syracuse is scary. Northwestern will ring the cash register against everyone, but their D may not stop anyone...

Re: 2020 A10 Conference UMass Question
I'm heading to Amherst this weekend for the home opener vs BC at Garber field. Any tips, pointers, things to avoid anyone in this thread can offer? Is parking easy to find? Is there admission? (Games at BC are free until the postseason.) Think UMass will give the Eagles a game? Any thoughts or advi...

Re: FanLax Forum Poll
OK I'm taking heat for the Princeton choice.... We will see... I wanted to break up the typical top 4.... Ok the Princeton thing? I like them too but they lost 90% of their draws a defender and their best middie. I am a fan but if you faceguard Sears, where’s the scoring gonna come from? Goo...

He’ll bring aspects of the men’s offensive field game and box techniques on things like shooting that will be an improvement to an already good offensive group of players and schemes.spartanslynx wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 3:50 pm Casey Powell joins Northwestern as volunteer assistant coach. Re: Big 10 Women’s Lacrosse
Is this the year that Northwestern takes over ? They were knocking on the door last year. I believe the Cats are the most athletic team in the conference in 2020. I think the top 3 finish the same as last year - MD, Northwestern, Michigan. I think Johns Hopkins finishes 4th & PSU at 5th (which ...

I think there is no question NU is althlrtic enough to compete with Maryland. The BIG10 championship game was not a fluke. I am not read...

Re: influence of Men's game good for Women’s Lacrosse?
Heard this a few times. What is it about the Olympic rules everybody seems to hate? Haven’t really looked them over yet. Essentially, Olympic rules turn our beloved sport into a basketball game with sticks. It's continuous play. Goals are scored and play just continues. The goalie digs the ball out...

Re: influence of Men's game good for Women’s Lacrosse?
This isn't precisely the correct place to put this but it's the closest I could come up with without scrolling back too far. Due in part to my anticipation for the beginning of the women's lacrosse season opener this coming Friday, I looked at the 4th quarter of the Air Force/Duke game yesterday. I...

Re: 2020 Picks and Predictions
A little lite reading Before games begin. 25-1 coming later https://twitter.com/inside_lacrosse/status/1222174283440492544?s=12 Broke them down in case a body doesn't feel like flipping through the D1 men and adverts to see which wlax players made their list: I broke the rest down too as I had some...

Re: FanLax Forum Poll
I created the Forum Poll Page (for the D1 Men) to collect the Polls from the individual Forum Poll Post-ers. Take a look . I'm going to do the same for you all but wanted to pause before doing this to get feedback on this first iteration. As shown on the page, minimum of Top 10, maximum of Top 25. ...

Re: Will Maryland repeat?
I’ll never stop saying this – the women who play lacrosse are courageous and brave. I can’t imagine coming back on the field after an injury like that. I saw it happen on a live stream to Syracuse’s Morgan Widner a couple of years ago. I was moved at how painful it must have been from her reaction....

Re: Will Maryland repeat?
With the significant news that Colson will redshirt this season, does that change anyone's prediction for the Terps this year? Not change...assumed she was missing season. Final four but no final. Think UNC and Cuse are deeper and a little more experienced this year. MD Coaching could tip the balan...
