Re: Oberlin College
I'll go one better--how about if folks don't post D3 news on D1 boards; regardless of how many people do or don't visit that neck of the woods as a qualifier. After reading and watching, this is more than D3 news - this is women in sport news. Is there a current issue in women’s lax with transgende...

Re: Notre Dame 2023
Schedule says ND played Detroit Mercy on Jan. 22. That accurate? I assume it was a scrimmage? Brian Tevlin play and did he put up any points? yes, just not labeled as a scrimmage. notre dame won't play more than 12 games. not sure if there's a date rule other than # of practices needed, but this pa...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
Nice speech, except you don’t know all of the relevant facts, notwithstanding what you think. You seem to want to take as gospel what the NY City lawyer wrote. I don’t. You haven’t reviewed all of the relevant documentation. You haven’t seen the University’s report, read the transcripts of the inte...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
Dasher, I don’t see it quite your way. You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but upthread you were willing to concede we don't know all the info. Now you have concluded it's an "awful situation." Ready, fire, aim. But let’s peel back the varnish here. Somebody (pretty obvious who) ...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
I had hoped Nigel would weigh in on this discussion since his experience is much, much closer to Colgate wlax than any other posters’, as far as I can gauge. Certainly including mine. Taylor was hired in June 2019 according to the website. Presumably, her first recruiting class was the 2021s (high ...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
One could argue that NOT firing the coach given the apparent allegations would be the scandal. And that is my larger point. They would NOT roll that dice. There is so much more to this story. And I would really suggest not passing judgment on the coach here without full direct knowledge of the stor...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
In this day and age of litigation, outrage, Twitter, everyone has a voice (regardless of IQ)......something is REALLY missing from this story. Let me be clear: Colgate has ZERO reason to keep Coach Taylor if even 10% of the story is true. Why on earth would they keep her on if all these things were...

Re: Best returning players by position for 2023
I'm all for guys getting their fifth year of eligibility, but a sixth year of eligibility is a little absurd. 25/24 Year old's playing against kids straight out of high school just doesn't sound right.. It's crazy, I know of a high-caliber player, who played 5 years for a very good team. He got hur...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
Wow. I missed that connection. This makes so much more sense as to why this is being covered up. A headline allegation of FORMER IWCLA PRESIDENT tells one student-athlete she was being "dramatic" and causing a "scene" when the student reported feeling suicidal, and that "no...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
We welcome articles with positive affirmations of mental health and well-being in women's lacrosse, but it's just as important to highlight thorny situations so that they are not just swept under the rug. There is a program in a well-respected league that has gone as far as to fully guarantee schol...

Wow. And now this. Sad turn for a program ...
