Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

Was able to cool off after Colgate and was able to watch Saturday live. The hounds looked very outmatched in terms of size/speed/athleticism but that was to be expected. I thought they did a nice job at keeping things close in the 1st half: Duke seemed very slow to slide to our midfield and Hueston ...

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

Have been pretty quiet up to this point but after today I couldn’t resist getting back on…this team is falling apart. The talent is there on both sides of the ball but the boys have regressed each week. Could always chalk it up to the tough slate early on but they are still better than this. As far ...

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

Brian minicus arguably the best player on the field for both teams at the moment in the UVA game. See a lot of our current #7 in him. If you told me they weren’t related I would still tell you that one looks like an older version of the other. I’m excited about the potential there.

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

With 2023 in the books, my takeaways from seeing all but 3 games: - beating a dead horse but must get better at the X. Still think we can be capable on a good day but one could argue that we win Sunday if we can manage +50%. Tough to swallow-depth is very much needed as well with only 2 guys coming ...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Also on the goalie yesterday, someone please correct me but I believe staudt has two more years after this current season. I remember reading in an interview he had an injury that kept him out for 18 weeks of his whole freshman year. If he does have another year, this would be huge as the close D l...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Have been away for a bit, but have watched every game so far. While there have been some ups and downs, the fact of the matter is that if you told me 2 months ago the hounds would be 5-3 going into this week with the incredibly tough schedule that they have I would be content. Especially with the wi...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Just to be clear, while the Ivies do limit the # of practice hours with coaches, there's a ton of pressure on conditioning and strength work done without the coaches. IMO, they, too, over do it relative to actual benefit. Diminishing returns can turn negative. But more important than the total amou...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

I know that I will get blow back from what I am about to say, but we need to look at the root problems of this team. And I know that there is an unwritten rule of parents should not post, but I believe the whole picture needs to been seen. My son is one that may or may not come back next year. It i...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

I can’t understand the complete dismissal of recruiting rankings simply because we don’t do as well in that area as other programs. There is clearly a correlation between rankings and success-just look at this year’s Maryland squad. Or Cornell who has had a couple very good classes. Or both Princeto...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Replacing 5th years will be key to season, especially at the X, LSM and in the cage. Despite a disappointing finish the hounds have the personnel to bounce back, as well as what should be a really good offensive class coming in!

Re: Tewaaraton Favorite?

1. Wisnauskus- best player on best team. Outstanding vision/outside shot
2. Brandau- only player in the top 5 for both goals/assists per game
3 Nichtern-most valuable to his offense but team may hurt chances

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2022

Nothing has changed-this team needs to win the PL in order to have a shot at the NCAA tournament. Despite not playing Lehigh yet, most on this board seem to forget that this team was outplaying both Army and BU until the second half, when it seems we just ran out of gas. So while improvements need t...

Re: Does Maryland Win The National Title And Go Undefeated?

Petro gave teams the blueprint to stop the Terps' offense, and Princeton had the close defense to almost pull it off. The difference between a 20-10 and a 12-10 Terps' win is how Khan and Malever play. When Khan and Malever have multi-point games, it means a Terp blowout. That's why Princeton sent ...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2022

What a debacle today. We can’t put steam away. Army saw our weakness and exploited our d middies. 23. 49. Awful games. I see no reason for 20 and 49 to be on the field Great game by Shaffer and savio. Elite coaching staff was out coached again in the second half Well probably like every other D1 la...

Re: Rutgers 2022

Eh Rutgers will be fine. Very talented offense and a very good goalie will deliver promising results down the stretch. Scott is a very quick at X and Bartolo can stretch the field with Cameron being a very serviceable crease guy. Midfield has the weapons. We should find out more about Michigan and O...

Re: Examples In DI History Of Programs Falling After Top Assistant Leaves

You could argue Syracuse has taken a large step back since Kevin Donahue left. 9-9 since in the last 2 seasons without him excluding the Covid year. Granted it’s a small sample size but that’s really the only example I can think of among the blue blood programs.

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2022

At the end of the day I thought the hounds improved in every aspect-faceoffs and goaltending included. Defense was rock solid against a very good offense, and offense looked very good for 3 quarters. I thought Sam came in and was great once he settled in-21 was inconsistent but showed promise for a ...

Re: Penn State

Play this game, who’s the replacement for Tambro/Myers? I’d maybe roll the dice on 2-3 theoretically get table guys (not getting some Lars type let’s be real): Chemotti Cassesse (he’s not looking so hot all the sudden w last years flameout and after today) Polley Torpey? McMinn? Based on that list ...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2022

this one hurt, they at least fought really hard but Hopkins made the right plays at the right time. Hounds won more faceoffs, GB's, caused more turnovers and had even less turnovers compared to Hopkins but two goalies only making 4 saves combined is troublesome.. Offensive ball movement was better ...
