Re: Maryland 2024
The last team in is Georgetown. If there’s a bid steal from the B1G or Ivy, they’re the one getting booted, unless of course they win their AQ. After that, the second to last team in is Yale. Maryland and UVA both have better resumes than Yale. Cornell or PSU is probably third to last. PSU might jum...

Re: Maryland 2024
This thread reads like a post-mortem on a wasted season. You guys are performing an autopsy on the patient while he’s still alive, already looking at 2025. Man. Tillman could turn this around with one decision: go uptempo. You’ve got an AA first teamer at FOGO but you take the full shot clock to ge...

Re: Maryland 2024
They’re in the tournament 100%. They’re still a seed right now, so even if there’s bid stealing they have a clear path over multiple teams.

Re: Maryland 2024
He feels more like Shack to me; but agreed a Stanwick is the comparison My post even bringing them up was in response to someone saying that the guys coming in next year will push for starting attack roles. With everyone lamenting the lack of dodging, the comments about Ford and Gardiner don't seem...

Re: Maryland 2024
Ford reminds me of the younger Stanwicks. He doesn't have great foot speed, not overwhelming athleticism, but he always knows how to get to his spot, he's a tremendous passer, great stick skills, can play off-ball as well. Think of all the Boys Latin attackmen you've seen before (Stanwicks, Wisnausk...

Re: Maryland 2024
I think Tillman is a little too cautious with this team. Also, people speak in generalizations with him and his mindset too much. From 2011-2015, it was that all he cared about was stalling and didn't know how to coach offense by letting players play....and then he got Rambo and Kelly and Heacock an...

Re: Maryland 2024
When you don’t have shooters, you don’t have passers, and you don’t have a dedicated crease guy….your EMO is going to be bad More concerning for me is how atrocious their man down defense is. They give up the same goal to the interior every single game. There were two guys in front of the goal just ...

Re: Maryland 2024
It shouldn't have been surprising to see Smith take Erksa instead of Kilrain, who'd been taking the opponents' top dodger for a few weeks now. Erksa struggles with physical defensemen who can run well enough to at least keep a stick in his gloves. Usually, when you get a physical defender, you eith...

Re: Maryland 2024
NIL was introduced in summer of 2022. The guys on the field now committed in 2019, 2020, and 2021. To the degree that it has any impact on recruiting - and so far I've yet to really see any evidence it does - it has nothing to do with the guys on the field now. Recruiting dropped off after Bernhard...

Re: Maryland 2024
The second midfield getting the run it has all year with the production it’s put up is inexcusable. Just wasting minutes every time that group is on the field each game unfortunately. Give other guys a shot. Something is not working with what they’re doing. The coaching staff doesn’t have solutions ...

Re: Maryland 2024
Great crowd, great atmosphere, great weather at Homewood today. Defense did everything they possibly could in the second half.
If only the offense got off the bus. Oh well.

Re: Big Ten 2024
Does the Ivy have better offensive personnel, or do they just have a completely inability to slide and rotate effectively? (The ACC on the whole is the best conference this year, though not by as much as last year; but all these conferences have their strengths and weaknesses. I think it's clear tho...

Re: Tewaaraton Award 2024
Depends how you define “down” I suppose I’m not sure there’s a legitimate title contender in the conference because of how porous the defense is. Yale’s defense has been bad for years and Cornell without Adler and Ierlan has fallen off a cliff defensively. But there also wasn’t really a title conte...

Re: Syracuse 2024
Mule isn't a big dodging threat, but that was known coming in to the year tbh. He's supposed to be your #3 attackmen. Over-focusing on him goes a little too much into it. The attack in general is an issue. Spallina against ACC/Top 20 OOC opponents: 8 goals/18 assists/24 points (7 gms): 3.4 ppg Hilt...

Re: UNC 2024
With ND, Duke, and UVA having to heavily remake their rosters next year and them being super young, they should be a tournament team. If not, you could make the move with Breschi only having one year on his contract, and frankly you should make the move at that point as he’d be a lame duck But also...

Georgetown is probably still the last team in. It’s either them or Penn, and Georgetown beat them H2H
